What's new

On the record...

Were a lot of you guys rooting for the Lakers to win the title in 2004 so Malone could get a ring?

Minnesota also isn’t going to be nearly as good as most think on here. Nobody besides Jazz fans think they’re going to be anything more than maybe a second round exit as their ceiling.

If we traded a lot of our depth for KAT like Minnesota did for Gobert I don’t think many of us would think that move pushed us into being title contenders.
Depth? Minnesota traded barely anything and are one of the deepest teams in the NBA. Our tenth guy from last year is on a 2 way contract for them.

They are going to be a great team, potentially special if Ant and McDaniels continue to develop.

Beverley was the heart and soul of that team and they barely won a play-in game against the Kawhi-less Clippers. Their ceiling is a second round exit.

Hey we aren't winning it in the next 3-5 years. They can win one or two in that time frame, give us something to cheer for, then we can take over and it can be our turn for a dynasty from these 1,349 draft picks we are going to get.
You do realize the wolves being great has a direct impact on our ability to improve. Root for Gobert but hope that the wolves still struggle.

Kind of a huge difference between rooting for Malone to win at the end of his career on a different team vs a player in their prime on a different team.
Yeah, Malone a pedophile on the Lakers and Gobert is a great dude on one of the worst franchises in NBA history looking to be relevant for the first time ever.

Yeah but it’s actually kinda crazy, I know it won’t make sense, but anyone rooting for the Wolves doesn’t actually change the outcome of any of those events.

Yeah and that team now is about to (potentially) get huge leaps from two highly athletic highly talented athletes and they added Kyle Anderson. Oh and they added one of the GOAT defenders of all time who will also hugely boost their offensive efficiency

Minnesota isn’t better than Golden St, Denver with Murray coming back, Clippers with Kawhi coming back, Phoenix with the entire team returning, Memphis with the entire team returning, etc.

Tell me which teams they’re going to be better than. They’re gonna be battling for the 5th-6th seed at best. A lot of delusional people on here.

This was in my calculation but forgot about. Adding Anderson is like having Joe Ingles.

This might be wild to hear, but who you root for has absolutely zero impact on the outcome of things so if you like a player there is zero harm in rooting for them to win.

If you don't that is fine too, but Im not going to feel like I'm "cheating" on the Jazz because I'm not excited to watch NAW and company win 28 games.

Which is correct but just because it doesn’t change the outcome doesn’t mean it’s not ****ing weird lmao.

And they had a pretty good draft this past year. It's not like they are in Utah's position last year where they had no young talent. They have a lot of it.

Yeah so delusional to think a team with high level depth and (potentially depending on how much Ant improves) three top 30 players is a contender.

I can’t wait for you to be wrong (once again) and can’t wait to hear the excuses.

Everyone with a brain knows we robbed the Timberwolves and they aren’t going to be much better than the 4th seed at best.

Cy white knighting for Gobert and Minnesota is pathetic at the highest degree. I honestly feel bad for you.
