A couple thoughts…
- We gave away leverage in the Beverley deal.
- If they’re offering a first and a swap, then give them their matching salary and then we’ll send the other guys elsewhere.
I would do 1 pick and two swaps. Heck, I would do three swaps in a row (make them top 1 protected) and call it good. I know swaps are risky and hard to trade as an asset in the far future but if you are confident that the Lakers will be horrible then it is probably the best bet for a swap there is.A couple thoughts…

On the pod he talked about how they really wanted Pat. If that deal wasn't a down payment we really should have waited and snuck some second rounders at least.A couple thoughts…

I think we can settle in on a pick and a swap. Fisher mentioned that was a possibility and they kicked it around. I'd prefer the Lakers pick but it sounds like Bogey's market is pretty wide... it should be. So maybe we get a solid first plus something elsewhere.I think the Jazz cave to the Lakers for that 1 pick.
They can deal Bogey to another team for a late 2023, but why?
If there is an opportunity to stockpile later picks then do it. We dont need draft picks, we need far off trade assets we can use to get a star in a trade.
Yes and no... I agree there is way more pressure on the Lakers here as they basically can't do a straight expiring swap for Russ and are stuck with him or taking on salary if we move on... We do have some pressure though. Bogey is on an expiring contract and you will get the most value for him before the season starts. So there is an expiration date at some point here.I may be in the minority, but I think the Lakers are just fronting. They are are going to blink before the Jazz do.
There is zero pressure on the Jazz.
We've been talking about this trade for quite some time around here. Did our FO not have any foresight on this? How do we make a trade before hand that delivers to them what they want? Had the idea of us taking Westbrook as a salary dump not entered their minds at that point? On the pod he talked about how they really wanted Pat. I am giving up on down payment theory and adopting weird *** trade theory... we made a weird *** trade.
