Lakers-Jazz Trade

Not even! LA let Caruso walk to keep THT, Washington and Indiana wanted him in prospective deals. And Stanley Johnson, I mean it's not Minny or Cleveland but I think we did fine.
Let’s see if we have anything to show for it in two years.

Fair enough! Course it goes both ways, with injuries and such last year for Beverly and at 34 prolly out of the league in two years.
His value was at least a protected first somewhere. We traded our third best player in franchise history for a certain return and immediately flushed part of that return down the toilet.

I’ll have to respectfully disagree with that assessment. Indiana was totally pissed that Ainge managed to land the previously untradable THT for a salty old throw in on the Gobert trade as he was a big part of the Turner deal they were looking to swing.

And I doubt we could’ve gotten a protected first (a second maybe) but the ceiling on Tucker is higher than we likely get rolling the dice in the middle of the draft.

What did Holmgren go this year and how productive is he going to be this year or even next if he tries to get between Lebron and the basket? THT is only 6’4” but weighs 235 (seven pounds less than Lebron). His wingspan is over an inch better than Lebron’s. Have you seen this kid finish at the rim (either hand) because it’s truly a thing of beauty. There’s a reason he started some games in Lebron’s absence last year.

Every time I see him, his body type and play style reminds me of someone. . . but I couldn’t place who. Finally figured it out tonight.

He reminds me of a shorter, younger version of Boris Diaw. Shooting mechanics, handle, attacking the basket, etc. . . all very reminiscent of Boris. He doesn’t have the defensive presence or court vision that Boris did, but the stats are comparable (outside of assists.)

I’m still underwhelmed by the trade, but clearly the Jazz like him. He’s been singled out in interviews by both DA and JZ recently. I’m hoping they see something I don’t.

Not solo, no. In a larger trade he could've been a meaningful scale-tipper.
This. Would’ve LOVED to see what his value would be at now if the Jazz had executed the Mitchell trade first and still had Beverley, Beasley, Bogey, Conley and Clarkson to investigate additional trades now. I think a package of Beverley, Beasley and Bogey would look nice and clean for the Lakers books. Instead, they got the guy they wanted without having to put him in the bigger desk for Westbrook and picks.
