OKC Sees Our Tank and Raises

This is FIVE worst team last year.
ROCKETS, MAGIC, THUNDER, PISTONS, PACERS. the next one is blazers.
1.only SPURS should tank outside of this list.
2. JAZZ wont be better than any of these tesms.
3. Bogey to Pistons should help us on draft night.

We have a chance for good pick.

Even if the number is 8 it is a sad state of affairs. In every sports the race to see who can be the best at being the worst taints the game. It clearly wasn't working with Don and Rudy so something had to change but the number of people who are more excited about tanking than doing a reset around one of our all stars gives me pause. I know that is a minority view.
Eh, we are embracing what we cannot control. If I had had my way we would have re-tooled around Gobert. The haul we got for Mitchell would have been more than enough to keep us contenders with Gobert in the middle, and would have given us a shot at a quick rebound as we could have still moved Conley and Bogey for better assets, and focused on a stronger defensive identity. But they decided early on this was not the route they were taking, so why not get hyped for what is to come, hoping we get the top pick a few times, as we are one of a very few teams that has NEVER had a true #1 pick, except the one the league handed to the Lakers so they could build their money-dynasty. So let's get excited about something.

I can tell you that what is going on right now, rife with possibility, is far more exciting than it would have been if we had just tried to add one or 2 dudes from the g-league trash heap and tried to hype our vaunted "development system" again and essentially just run it all back. That is really the most realistic alternative to what we have now. So go with it, embrace the tank, #prayforWemby or whatever. It is the uphill part of the roller coaster, full of anticipation and nervous excitement, as we wait for the inevitable downhill rush.

Rockets and spurs are quite obviously worse than us… Thunder are off to a good start… Pacers depends on Turner… Magic should be in for a bump. There are generally teams that experience an injury early and end up sucking *** and joining the tank race.

Retooling around Rudy made a ton of sense. I wonder if they got seduced by the offer and still thought they would keep Donny and then realized that keeping Donny without Rudy made zero sense. It feels a lot more reactionary than planned. I will miss Rudy and Joe and Bogey nd I will miss JC and Conley when they get moved.

We’re jockeying for the play in.

We’re jockeying for the play in.
I think the first 25 games will put that to bed... we will be a step below the play-in group. The record will be bad to start which will hopefully flip the switch a bit and we sell off a vet or reduce the role they have and start to game the system a little. Problem is you will fall into wins late in the system as teams have nothing to play for and you run out some motivated young players.

If I had to guess I would bet we finish with the 5th worst record. OKC, SA, Houston, Indiana or Charlotte finish below us.
