Eh, we are embracing what we cannot control. If I had had my way we would have re-tooled around Gobert. The haul we got for Mitchell would have been more than enough to keep us contenders with Gobert in the middle, and would have given us a shot at a quick rebound as we could have still moved Conley and Bogey for better assets, and focused on a stronger defensive identity. But they decided early on this was not the route they were taking, so why not get hyped for what is to come, hoping we get the top pick a few times, as we are one of a very few teams that has NEVER had a true #1 pick, except the one the league handed to the Lakers so they could build their money-dynasty. So let's get excited about something.
I can tell you that what is going on right now, rife with possibility, is far more exciting than it would have been if we had just tried to add one or 2 dudes from the g-league trash heap and tried to hype our vaunted "development system" again and essentially just run it all back. That is really the most realistic alternative to what we have now. So go with it, embrace the tank, #prayforWemby or whatever. It is the uphill part of the roller coaster, full of anticipation and nervous excitement, as we wait for the inevitable downhill rush.
