Preseason Game #2 - Portland @ Utah, 12-21-11, 7pm MST

According to Brian T. Smith, "Corbin said there's a chance Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward could start tonight vs. Blazers but nothing's set."

I hope so. While I am not calling for the immediate trading of the vets it is clear that the young guys are the future. Hayward and Favors should be starting in my opinion. Go Jazz!

Can anybody on this team create their own shot off the dribble?
Is it Jazz philosophy to NOT shoot off the dribble? Not part of the structured offense or something?

I only ask, because if you don't shoot off the dribble, you are taking away a quarter of your options, and you will spend the entire game either shooting long stand around jumpers, or driving right into people under the basket, or getting your passes stolen, which is exactly what the Jazz did all game long against the Blazers.

I would think GH and Alec could, but not flexing on this one.

I would think they could too, but they are young enough, that they might not have picked this up yet. If so, they must do this. It's not hard, you just have to do it, until it clicks in.

My hope for tonight is not much more than seeing the Jazz match the Blazers intensity. I can stomach a lot. I am very patient with results, but horribly impatient with effort.

If Corbin wants to start Memo, then he had better start Kanter or Favors at 4.
If Corbin wants to start Jefferson, then he had better start Favors at the 4.
If Corbin wants to start Okur and Jefferson, then he had better call his agent ... he's gonna need him before the season is over.
