Rest Easy, The Jazz Will Be Awful

Conley, Beasley, Gay, Clarkson.... all need to go IMO. Whoever is not likely to be part of the next Jazz iteration to compete for titles should go - old vets, players with expiring contracts, players who likely will suffer decline by the time this team is ready to compete... All of them should go. Give those minutes to Fontecchio, Agbaji, Kessler, Bolmaro...

Don't think it's crazy to have expected Sexton's minutes being a bit higher and Conley's a bit lower.
That’s not a big enough change to be awful. It’s all the folks that thought we’d give NAW and THT 20 minutes as well as Ochai over guys like Mike/JC or other healthy good players. Zero percent of tanking rests with coaches… it’s all on the front office to remove the good players and force the coach to play developing players… even if you thought they’d do that you are still loud wrong on us being awful it’s just for a different reason… but a reason that is perfectly predictable. We win 30-35 games and will reap very little benefit for being respectable. We are playing with fire a bit… still time to fix it but it’s all in DAJZ.

Were better than I thought we'd be but teams don't know what to expect right now. New coach, new system, new players. I think it'll get tougher when teams have had a chance to scout us.
We will hit some rough patches but the tank race is going to be fierce. Winning 30-35 games instead of 20-25 games is pretty catastrophic and pretty easy to do for this group with a good start. Teams will pack it in end of year and you will get wins just be showing up.

If we don’t make a move in the first 20-25 games we are headed for the 8th or 9th pick.

It’s been awfully quiet from the guys lol’ing about Minnesota not being the best team in the league. People were acting like it was so obvious and how could I fathom them not being dominant.
I do think Minny will be good regular season but forgot how wonky KAT is. Rudy is a walking 50 win season. After last night I think they need a vet to organize them a bit better. Just seen helter skelter

Dude we just beat two of the best teams in the league. Ready to compete? So far we’re exceeding Golden State, Phoenix, Philly, the teams we just beat and a few others in that department.

I’m torn on Mike but if we got any decent offer we should do it. I think he’s great for Sexton but man… he just makes winning plays and is so steady. I think KO and Vando should be candidates to get moved too. I know Kessler is good but we can create a hole at the center position behind him that could drag us to the depths of the bottom 5.

I just can’t see how DA and Pelinka don’t look at the rosters and find some middle ground that meets both teams goals. Mike/JC/Beasley/Vando/KO could all do worlds for the Fakers.

We just won a game in OT. I think it's a big enough of a change to influence a change of 5 or so wins over a season of it keeps up

How hot a start would it take for the Jazz to transition from sellers to buyers?
Depends on the deal they could get… I think DA is a bargain shopper. If there is an IT for a pick deal out there he might take it regardless of how hot we start.

I don’t see a deal right now that would give us some good player in their mid 20s that I think he’d bite on. I doubt he’d go after a guy in his late 20s or beyond.

Swapping 5 minutes of Conley for Sexton won’t be a 5 win swing. Swapping 15-20 minutes of Mike for NAW might be.

I think it’d be like a Cam Johnson or PJ Washington type guy… restricted FA that is on sale for cheap for some reason. Those guys aren’t cheap now… that would be the type of deal I could maybe see.

I feel like the issue is that we don't have enough talented youth to really be buyers? I could see Charlotte for example selling a number of vets but don't think any of them move the needle. Not sure who could come available that would make me want to snap it off.

Another player like Markannen would be ideal - someone who's flashed here and there but is firmly stuck in a smaller role.

If the Jazz want to tank, they need to move Mike Conley. He's running the team too well and too efficiently. He's getting guys in their spots and keeping the offense moving. He had 11 assists last night and is currently top-5 in the league.
