Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

He will continue to be a great sparkplug off the bench once we get the starting 5 we really need, no doubt. I am a fan. It would take some great value to consider moving him, on the order of 1st round pick(s) and other assets.
I think he could opt out and get an offer we don't necessarily love long term. I think he has showed he can do more than just be the spark plug off the bench. I think he's showed that he's a legitimate starting combo guard.

I think Sexton is being re-educated right now and they are trying to make him more of a pg... if that experiment fails he is best suited as the bench scorer guard.

Should not have played him last night... that was so dumb. Could tell he had no legs and didn't want to shoot it... guys dropped under the screen and he wasn't even thinking about it.

Need to really manage his games played so when he does his legs are live. I think his 3 point shot comes around.
Yeah it almost seemed like they were over playing the veteran players last night. 27 minutes for Conley was way too much especially against a super young, athletic Houston team.

Same.

Maybe I'm just infatuated with the idea of Agbaji since he was a lottery pick for crap sake. After watching him at Kansas and in the summer league his skill and size might overlap with Beasley a bit although Agbaji seems to be the more athletic player from the glimpses I've seen.
I think Simone will end up being better than Beasley... and Ochai needs like 12-15 minutes every night to really develop. G league ain't it for him imo.

Porter Jr. is also the exact type of guy that gives Mike problems even when rested. Long and just gets into the paint and shoots over him with ease.

I have a sneaky suspicion JC ends up in Milwuakee or PHX by the deadline. He's already 30 and it could easily take 3-4 years before Jazz are a serious contender again. It would suck to see him in another uniform but he can help a contender now as either a 6th man or spot starter. He can shoot and is now demonstrating some other skills to go with it. I would be so happy for JC if he could win a ring in the next few years. Just a good, chill type dude too. I wouldn't give him away though..

I'm sure it won't be as bad as it has been, but teams probably want to know if he can hold up and maybe that's why Utah was trying to prove he could with the Houston game. Idk just spit-balling.

I still think Conley is not a tradeable asset at this point unless we are taking a back bad long term salary.

Sadly Conley looks like he is losing more value than gaining. He's still a great game manager type, but no one wants a 20+ million game manager who will get cooked by anyone with size and can't hit his shots.

Yep. He's shooting just 32% and 27% from 3. His rough start to the season combined with his awful playoff performance against Dallas and his large contract is going to really scare teams off. Hopefully he picks things up, but it's looking more likely that we might just be stuck with him.

Conley and Gay both have that old man game. I think they can both look good in the right situation especially in spurts against veteran teams.

Conley also looks about 2" shorter than Sexton so Mike must be about 5'-11" . It's just really hard to play shorter, older guy against super athletic teams stacked with 6'-8" athletes.

I don't think it was that necessarily but anything is possible. I think teams likely want to get a read on him physically but may not be concerned on b2bs specifically. I would think any buyer wouldn't want us to be over-using him then giving them Mike with a low battery. Showing some restraint and managing his minutes might make him more attractive to a buyer. Part of the reason Al Horford was good last year had to be the time he had off to get completely healthy.

I hope they revise their strategy there... Just come out and say he won't play on b2bs then it isn't a day-to-day decision.

I think both guys have moved well.. I just think Mike's shot isn't falling yet. Just a low sample size... for example no one here thinks KO will shoot 80% from 3 for the rest of the season... I think Mike's shot will turn around... I doubt teams have that concern with him.

The Lakers just need to focus on getting their team to a point they are a solid play-in/playoff team. Mike would help with that a lot. They need both on ball creators and shooters... Mike does both and is fine on defense for the most part.

I predict Russ gets sent home in the next 7 days. The Lakers schedule is tough and they will be under a microscope... pressure is intensifying and something will break soon.

No worries bout Mike. 9 Assits/Game after 4 is not bad. He should not have play against Houston.
And i think one of the reason why he don't shoot well is because he is shooting a lot and loose some rythm after 2 years where he was not shooting much.
But again it was stupid to make him play against Houston, min should have been on Sexton and Beasley.

Russ is doubtful tomorrow with a hamstring injury… hmmmm… has Russ played his last game for the Lakers?

I think so. They just can't go on like this. I don't believe AD and James will accept to loose another year. They play well since the beginning of the season specially AD. Won't be surprised if something happen very soon.

He's actually only taking 10 shots a game this season, which is less than his previous 3 seasons with the Jazz.

You would think that if we kept him around 24 minutes a game that it would keep his legs fresh. It is definitely Strange to see him so inconsistent with his jumper though even when he has his legs. At some point he has to snap out of it because we know the guy can shoot.

A couple game shooting slump isn't a big deal, and doesn't take away from Mike being one of the best shooters last year and his whole career. I doubt teams are too concerned about it. I think teams are probably more impressed with his 9 assists a game and leading the team to an improbable record.

That said, I think Mike gets in his head way too much and loses confidence causing longer shooting slumps than others.
