What's new

For ****’s and giggles

What would you guys say if the Mavericks came to us and offered their 25/27/29 unprotected 1sts plus pick swaps in 26/28 plus salary filler for Markkanen and Conley?
hell no those picks all late firsts making swaps also useless. besides who they sending to match? they couldn't imo without us getting worse.

Well… the only reason you even consider trading Lauri is for a monster package plus we get worse which makes our own pick better.

Nah if im trading him for picks then i need to know they are going to be top 5 or so.

very. his value is sky high.
Yeah Danny could get a pick in the 6-8 range from SA for him I bet, if they miss out on the top 5.
Markannen and Jazz lottery protected for 2 years for Vassell, McBuckets ,4th overall (Thompson,Miller or Thompson etc.)
But I don't think he is available for less than twice that right now.

Why would San Antonio do this?

I very much doubt the spurs would agree to that. I’d do it though

ok but if at 6-8 there was no clear obvious target for their frontcourt there, they saw as a higher upside or that SA saw as worthy of it anyway, besides more guards which they already have a lot of, I think they would do it.
Technically I didn't word it correctly because it would be known our pick was thiers at 15-20 range,if the Jazz continue their winning ways with Marky all season and the pick is known on draft week

You are all lowballing his value... think about it.

7" flexible 3-5 player who shoots 40% from 3 and over 50% from any level inside the arc, is a huge cutting threat, can defend the rim or perimeter decently, is very consistent and DOESNT NEED THE BALL.

He is also top 10-30 in most advanced stats.. even some of those that reward higher volume.

The **** would I trade him for a 6th pick.. like how many #6 picks are there in the NBA who is outperforming him right now? Find one, I dare you.

This drooling over draft promises over proven players gets ridiculous at times. Out of this years top 10, at least 5 will end up as role players, standard "solid starters" or even out of the league before they are 25... just like every freaking year.

I am not lowballing the value of anyone I worded it wrong. I did clearly state his current value is twice that of the 6-8th pick + a former lottery pick in Vassell and a bucket getter for salary matching in McBuckets. But I also suggested it was the 4th pick coming back to the Jazz not 6-8 in the same sentence lol.
Either way I am not advocating the idea that Danny will or should move the Finnisher at all, nor do I believe he will. However I think that is a reasonable expectation for SA to consider even 4th overall, whereas many people would say that is too much for Marky despite his success on the Jazz compared to lesser previous roles.

My comment wasnt actually directed towards you, but towards the discussion in general. Now that you clarified it I see where you are coming from. For 2 top 6-8 picks + exchange I would pause to think long and hard as well. Would probably come down to timeline questions in that situation.
