Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Can also lead to getting Rudy when you already have KAT… I think with bigs you have to be a little careful.

If Minnesota paid 4 quarters for the dollar instead of 10 they wouldn’t be in the mess they’re in.

If they only traded the players and maybe a first and a swap nobody is looking at them the same way.

For sure... but it still isn't ideal. I think fit needs to be considered a bit more if its small guards or bigs.

Again for JC to be effective I think he needs to be in the DHO and PnR actions and that won't happen as much with Kessler on the floor. I think Walker may end up being a 25-30 minute a night guy but maybe not a 36 minutes every night type, so having the variety that Lauri and JC can provide might be awesome.

Based on the price I would pay... I think we get outbid... but the market for John may be lower than I think.

My thing with John Collins has been do I think I can get what I'd want from him out of a cheaper player? I might look harder at getting Derrick Jones Jr. out of Chicago and adding him to the mix rather than JC.

John Collins has to leave on a discount. His production this year + that contract is a huge risk for any suitors. I'm not saying Atlanta needs to pay for others to take him... but if they seriously want him gone to stay under luxury tax for next year they must take a discount deal.

They already did it with Huerter for this year. They are driving the team to the ground because the owner is cheap af... and now speculations are that Trae might look to request a trade (albeit I think that rumor came from his father who is trying to smoke out Nate McMillan).

They need a new coach in there asap.

I don't think Trae or his Father are ignoring the fact that the org brought in a legit 2 way point guard either though. The Collins things seems sort of bs. They could have gone after a better shooting defender than Dejounte to play off of Young, but instead kind of went and got a guy ,who plays the same position. I guess its a good problem to have, but I doubt either one of them is down with being second fiddle. I see Trae or Murray as more likely moved next summer if they miss the playoffs regardless of what happened with Collins who is already declining.

Collins is not a good rim protector and can't play the 3 so yeah no interest in him despite rumors imo. Not unless the Finnisher is going to war soon and they need at least a close replacement level pf. I don't think the tank would hesitiate to fire up though if Marky is out for any amount of time. I would rahter use Vander on the cheap in that case than trade for Collins.

Naz Reid is a guy to inquire about with Minny once KAT is back... In FA we might be able to swipe him for the MLE. Might provide the stretch 5 with some rim protection we want. Last few games have been awesome. Kind of a perfect 3rd big that gives some of what we love from KO without the sacrifices on defense.

I’m a no on Collins. I think he’s empty calories and an opportunity cost. Unless you’re planning to use him in a trade later, but then the argument comes up of how much higher you’re going to get his value.

Anyway, I’d go buy low on both Lonzo and Jonathan Isaac. Taking a risk on those injury guys but I think it’d be a good way to cash in our current vets if there’s a possibility, with some minor draft assets. High risk but incredible reward. Plus it really heats up the tank where we can lose a lot now by trading for real people.
I could see trying to pry one of those injured players but you probably have to give up a lot to get Lonzo since the Bulls clearly need him badly. I think they are invested in him more than Danny would offer as trade value. JI hasn't played in 2 seasons. 23 mil guaranteed is not much really, but if he never plays it is.

Lauri plays wing at SF. Has played center more than 4 this year. We dont even have a legit PF unless you count Vando who is not getting much attention when he parks into that weak side corner. That lack of 4s is also why Rudy Gay gets 20 minutes a game..

huh? you are mixing up the apple cart. I said Collins can't play the 3, doesn't mean they would try to play him there smh. He offers no rim protection. so you have to use him at the 4. Marky is fine at the 3 offensively sure , but he is a 4 defensively at his best and he cannot play the 5 defensively well either. Bad mixture having any limited front court pairing and Collins paired with Marky I don't like it.

He averages a block and a half a game and makes good rotations... he's a better rim protector than Vando and KO by a large margin.

Check the video again lol. Look at him before the shot is launched. I know you havent seen that much this year, but that is called boxing out.. and its a pretty elite example since he is able to keep his guy completely outside the paint even. He is the only Hawk who is actually doing his job near the paint.
This is a hilarious amount of cope

Let me get this straight...
- You said Collins cant play 3 so you have no interest in him. Then you indicate he could replace Lauri at PF (which Lauri doesnt play.. but instead Lauri plays 3 where you would want John Colllins to play?!?).
- Then I tell you Lauri plays 3 and we dont have a legit 4 in our roster which is why I'm interested in Collins. You also downvote this post for some completely random reason.. probably felt offended so pressed the boo-boo button?
- And then you post telling me we have to use him at 4?

Am I missing something? Make that make sense.

Also just FYI we play man defense way way more than zone, so we dont defend "at 4". We defend matchups. Lauri is matching up with wings whenever KO and Kessler are on court and usually Vando defends a wing when he is on. At least thats how I remember it. Collins would be defending wings so Lauri can match up with the taller guys.. cause the hell is KO ever gonna defend a wing.

Collins is way better 1on1 defender against wings than he is a rim defender. Actually pretty good. We need 1on1 wing defenders more than we need paint defenders. Kessler and Lauri both rank top 10 in shooting % against in the paint among bigs who have been around contesting lots of shots (Kessler was #4 and Markkanen #8 in that NBA.com article list).

You throw him under a buss for a human mistake. I point out his excellent fundamentals. How is it cope?

You throw a catchphrase because that is all you got. You got no reasonable argument to back up your latest take that is just absolute garbage and that you repeated 3 times.. Your list of bad takes is so long, and you just keep adding to it.

Sad fact is... you didnt even realize he boxed out great until I pointed it out. Because you cannot even see stuff like that. And beating the horse further just makes you look worse...

Good lord man. He lost the game by dropping an easy rebound that came straight to him. 3 paragraphs isnt changing that.
