Fire up the Trade Machine

Killian may develop into a solid backup PG one day, but he's still a scrub currently. He's an improving scrub, but still a scrub.

I'd rather take my chances drafting Marcus Sasser as the back end of the 1st if we really wanted a young PG prospect (but I really wouldnt want to do that either)

I think you are wrong about this. Killian is a 5% uptick in 3pt percentage away from being an above average offensive PG (he is already well above average on the defensive end). He is also younger than Sasser.

Killian has made major strides... of course those strides were from "this guy would suck in the g league" levels of bad. I have actually been impressed with his play... that said I would only take him if it was like a second round pick or just an expiring type of deal... and they would not do that.

I just think it is cool when a guy sticks with it and goes from "holy **** what a bust" to "this is an NBA player". I think it must be difficult to go through all the bust talk when you are that young (I know I know millions of dollars yada yada).

Here is the merge trade... Clips give a first in 2028... maybe like top 4 protected. Atlanta lets us swap firsts with the Brooklyn pick (top 8 protected).

Before you say Clips won't do it. Kennard has a knee issue and has been out... he has had knee issues in the past. He's a great shooter who plays less in the playoffs because of defense... they desperately need a real pg and Mike is about as good of a fit as you can get. Vando gives them an energy boost sorely needed.

Atlanta takes on salary of a guy who may play better if he is regular rotation and gets Beasley. I think both trades skew heavy towards giving us more value that we are sending but not in a crazy amount. It turns out there are more buyers than sellers and we are helping Atlanta with a major money issue and Clips with a major roster need.

Just a trade machine link.

Yeah the other Holiday would have been servicable end of bench guy but Justin is just bad.
I would literally have zero issue cutting him... he is purely cap fodder and the other Holiday sucks... the other parts of the deal are the actual deal.

I am down for both of those trades on their own so combining them is even better.
Conley and JC are in the "make me move them" bucket for me... it will need to be slightly unfair or piss off.

Beasley, KO, and Vando are "make me a fair offer and they are yours" bucket

Lauri is in the "remember the Gobert deal? well if we trade Lauri the stuff we get back will make that deal look like a discount" bucket.

Rudy Gay is in the "if you take this guy I will give you a bobblehead and a ham sandwich and will help you move if they fire you" bucket.

NBA gms make your offers accordingly.

I feel the same except i am more willing to move KO than that. I love having Kessler getting all the minutes and dont miss the flops. wouldn't give him away like with gay but I would be ok with a tiny bit unfair offer.

There is some potential there for a deal with Portland. I thought about a trade where we get Hart while sending Olynyk to a third team and that team sending assets to Portland. Miami comes to mind. This would be after trading Beasley to another team. Just thinking out loud here.
