THT Turning The Corner?

This... the age thing stops being this huge indicator at some point... and I'd say between a year at Iowa State and 4 years in the league he is much closer to his ceiling than a 22 year old that is finishing his first year of NBA basketball.
I mean playing with Lebron isn't really helpful for any young player, especially one with THTs skillset.

Would you guys rather have THT or RJ Barrett?
RJ… not super close. Even at his bloated salary he is likely still an asset. I think he gets moved this summer so we will get a read on his trade value. It’s less a player evaluation and more an asset evaluation. Like if we were talking like I had to play one guy 36 minutes in a game and if I lose then I get flipped in the nutsack with a rubber band… then it’s a toss up.

Even though I’m totally out, I think RJ definitely has the name recognition advantage. Don’t know how that stacks up with his much bigger contract but you’re probably right that there is some team that is still high on him. To be honest, nothing much has changed with RJ so the people that were high on him probably still are.

For me, I think I actually might like THT more going forward. I like his defense, passing, and I think he’s got better physical tools. His shooting and ability to play off the ball is still very bad, but RJ isn’t a world beater there either. RJ plays double the minutes but I think he probably should play the same amount as THT. RJ should probably get paid half as much as well.

Overall I think THT is closer to the right price point/role, but I agree that it’s a toss up player wise.

Once THT opts in, he is immediately tradeable. No one is touching Barrett at his salary, ballooning salary cap or not.
Nah... someone will roll the dice on him. He will be treated like at least a minor asset on the trade market. I think they go for Lavine this offseason using RJ... that is bloated deal for bloated deal, but I think both would have value.

THT clearly has talent, but is sloppy and needs the ball in his hands to impact the game. I'd like to keep him in the rotation, but on a better team, he would not be a starter. He can be a microwave off the bench to give some high energy minutes.

This, basically.

Inefficient role players who need the ball aren't popular with NBA teams anymore, to say the least. And what do you know... we have a surplus of those guys. THT, Sexton, Gay, Dunn, Jusang and Toscano-Anderson are all useless if they don't have the rock (Jusang and JTA are useless even if they have it). Clarkson can play off the ball but we all know that's not his preference.

THT turned some kind of corner, did he make a u-turn? Roundabout? Hmmm.
He did a spin move around the corner and slammed into another corner... but that's the thing with THT... he's got another counter... spoiler alert it will be a spin move.

Miami is a tough team. The down payment will have better days.

Are we gonna do the thing where every game decides THT's destiny as a player?

Because that's gonna be the most entertaining thing for the rest of the season.
I though the most interesting things the rest of the season were draft position and seeing how much Ochai Agbaji improves.
