2023 NBA Draft Megathread

If it makes you any less butthurt, RIley Kugel and/or Tyrese Prctor likely do not declare so GG will be in the first 30.

This is a fan site. Fans are entitled to have wild and wildly wrong takes. It doesn't make me butt hurt. I'm just chiding you. I'm surprised you filled out a whole 2nd round, considering the Jazz don't have a pick in the 2nd.

Also put Jordan Miller in my board for the first time because he is playing exceptionally well in the Tourney. Miami w/ Wong/Miller/Wooga have 3 fun 2nd roundy type prospects that you could see sticking if they get in the right situation, especially Wong

Doubt all these guys declare, but I wanted to do an overall board regardless of who I thought might declare, so I included some guys I like but probably wont declare.
I can BARELY get to 30 dudes. I only think past 20 because we have a pick so late.

Miller is really solid from 18 and in. Smart player. If he can get his outside shot consistent he could be a lot like Khris Middleton. If he can’t, then he doesn’t have much of a shot.

I like Wong as a college player, don’t think he’s anything in the league. Inconsistent 3-point shot, not a good passer, needs ball in his hand. Just isn’t good enough to be that guy in the league.

Maybe, but you could probably say that about every 2nd round prospect that is like him (see Jordan Clarkson out of Missouri). He has talent, can create separation, and can hit tough shots. He's got a chance at least.

Based on my tiers, I’d be super happy if we get two guys in tier 4 and up (13 total players). But tbh, I wouldn’t be upset with the guys in tier 5 with our second pick (19 total). So I think we’re sitting in a good position. I don’t feel strongly enough that we should move into tier 3 for Jarace or Cam even though I like them a bit more than the tier 4 guys.

For our third selection, I’d be content with anyone tier 6 and above (26 players). Cutting it close if NBA GM’s are drafting chalk from my immaculate draft board….but I figure we could get one.

Im not too enthusiastic about the value of anyone lower right now unless I missed something. It’s kind if a crapshoot after tier 6 for me. I could maybe see trading some future seconds to leap some spots for a tier 5 player.

Draft stock is gonna change a ton, but if the draft were today I think my plan would be:

1) Take your choice from Tier 4. But probably not Bilal because he is so much lower on draft boards.

2) Hope another tier 4 guy is available, if not just secure Bilal with the TWolves pick.

3) I think Bufkin or Clowney could fall to the Sixers pick. If not draft anyone left from tier 5 or your favorite from Tier 6.

An ideal draft would be something like:

Cason
Bilal
Clowney

Or

Hendricks
Hawkins
Bufkin

Hawkins’ shot has poor arc and I’m not sure what else he does on the court. Fine height but overall seems small.

I just don’t personally see much of an NBA player. If that shot translates then he will find a way for sure.
ha. not at all. complete non-issue.

i do wish he had a bit more length, however. if he were 6'7" he'd be a top 7 lock for me.
