2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Agreed. Perfect form, perfect arch, perfect ball rotation. Its beautiful. And over 45% from 3 backs it up. I haven't mentioned him much but I would be excited if we draft him.
I honestly don't know who they should draft, at least after the obvious Wemby/Scoot/Miller tier. Like the potential of the Thompson twins is intriguing, but who knows how that'll translate. Still, I think I can talk myself into being psyched for any of the 8 or so talked about targets after them.

Really don't get why you sit Hawkins with two fouls. You have a chance to win the game in the first half, just play him.

Wemby, Scoot, Miller
Walker, Whitmore, Hendricks, Dick
Black, Amen, Ausur, Wallace

I’d be happy with any of those guys for the first pick, and hopefully they get one plus another that falls to the Timberwolves pick. If those 11 are all gone, I’d probably just take GG and hope that Will Hardy is the coach to unlock the potential.

If they keep the last pick, I’m looking hard at my fallback list of Leonard Miller, Sidy Cissoko, Jaime Juaquez, Dariq Whitehead, Bilal Coulibaly, Julian Strawther or Brandon Podziemski.

I have a hard time deciding how high to rank Hawkins. Will probably end up lottery for me
He has such a Bane like stroke coming off those screens but none of the physicality or intensity that makes Bane such a damn good player. I’d feel better taking Hawkins with perhaps the last pick we have but I gotta think that with our first two, there will be better prospects available. Prospects that are taller, more athletic, and can do more.

Watch few games of Victor recently. Jesus Christ this kids is so skinny. He is so talented probably never have a kid like this since Lebron but he need at least 10kg of muscles or he will get destroy after 10 games...

Doing more isn't all that important tho if you are elite enough at your skillset.

And you are wrong about intensity. Hawkins plays hard and is tough.

Just don't play him at center and you're probably fine

This is the big risk. At his height and light frame injuries are likely going to be a very real problem.

This is a great video about the issue. Love me some jxmyhighroller.

Would you consider trading Walker Kessler if the Jazz got Wemby?

Let's say the Jazz get the 1st overall pick and Dallas moves up to 4th. Trade Walker, Sexton, and the Wolves pick for 4 and get Amen Thompson.

In general I would be wary of just using 3PT% to project if a player is going to be a good shooter or not. There are tons of players who shot mid to low thirties in college from 3 who are shooting high thirties to low forties now. The sample size is also extremely small in college especially if it’s just one season. One great week can shift their 3PT% dramatically and same with one bad week.

intensity? Hawkins is one of the more "intense" guys i've seen this season. not sure how one measures intensity, but based on what i've seen i'd say it's definitely a strength of his. i'd also guess you're underrating his athleticism and his ability to "do more" - he wasn't asked to handle the ball a lot or make plays on that UConn team - he played a specific role that helped them win. but i've watched him upwards of 20 times and i've seen enough to say he has plenty of skills he will be able to show off at the next level with increased opportunities and spacing. he is very skinny and ideally he'd be two or three inches taller, so some of your criticisms have merit, but if he were 6'8 and strong and still shot like he does, he'd be a top 5 lock - you'd basically be talking about Glen Rice.
