Mock Draft Take 4

Wouldn’t be surprised if we can just swap first and give the Laker future first
The Lakers future first is worth way more than the #28.... likely more than the #16.

It will cost a first to move up from 9 to 6 or higher... its not "just 3 spots". It very well could be worth it too.

Personally I would only use assets to move up to a top 4 pick. I just don't think there is that much of a gap between those projected 5-8 as those projected 9-12.

I think there is a decent chance we make a small move up though like some are suggesting, and if that's the case I'll trust that the front office has much more information than I do and it was worth it.

That’s the great thing about having Ainge. He will have intel that none of us will.

What… why would we move that first instead of 16 or 28?
I actually think you could move 16 and 9 and then do a deal with Miami or Atlanta to finesse your way back in at 15 or 18. If they party we are trading up with wants to take 16 over the Lakers pick I'm good. I think the future pick might have a smidge more value but its close.

I mostly agree, but say the jazz want Ausar and he falls a bit. It wouldn’t take much to move from 9 to 6-7 to grab him. I don’t even think you need to trade 16 or 28
Teams are super greedy about top 10 picks. I think 9 and 28 might get you up to 8, but might not even be enough. I think 9 and 16 have a chance to get you in the 6-7 range. 9 and one of the 2025 Cavs pick or Laker pick, might put you in the 5-7 range at best. It sucks, but the teams with those top picks have all the power in negotiations.

If that Lakers pick moves us from 9 to 6 I’d be all over that. Cash it in whilst it has value.

I would probably do the dance I spoke of if possible first. It was hard to acquire future firsts and I might keep that one and try to get another if we consolidate. Easier to do on draft night imo. If not I have no problem cashing in on one or more of our picks to make moves in this draft.

You’re delusional!!! It’s three spots!!
Opinions vary but the difference in upside drops a lot after 6 , and if that is not true, I don't expect us to give up anything of value to move up just to 6, which by definition proves ORL would not move down for whatever low ball offer we gave them. I would offer a lot of picks to get into the 2 spot and see if CHA bites tbh.
If Danny wants to move up just a little, he should be prepared to part with either all the mid to late first projected Cavs picks, just to outbid everyone else that is trying. I think if trying to get into the top 6, might as well try harder to get 5th from Detroit and that pick spot should be the target our assets could get us.
He should be willing to do that in a heart beat to get into the higher tier.
I mean at minimum if its just for choice, then part with 1 unprotected Cavs first and 9 to move up to 7 to get ahead of the Pacers who are hunting for a high ceiling forward like Hendricks to complete the starting 5 with the Finnisher and Walkee Blocky. one future protected from a 50 win team this year isn't getting you 7th let alone 6th.

5 maybe but 6 is pretty close to 9. I draw the line at the twins
