Im referencing when the Boozer game was played. Everyone gets older at the same pace, so why do you mention Boozer's age when the game was played but the Twins at a later date?

I'm probably not wording that clearly, but if the Boozer game was played in October, the age of everyone was relative to October. Saying the Twins played the same team 5 months later when they turned 20 and they didnt play as well (maybe because one was a damn exhibition game and the other was a playoff game and if you actually watched OTE you would know there was a dramatic quality difference in the Champion games vs the regular season games, and I'm sure that was probably double for an exhibition game) doesnt really make sense because the team they played also aged 5 more months.

So you are purposefully loading the context of the situation to make the Twins/OTE look as bad as possible.

boozer was15 when that championship game was played. the twins were 20. and trust me, you don't have to try hard to make ote look bad. i don't have a problem with the twins - i'd gladly take ausar at 9. but i do think everybody needs to acknowledge they are huge ???s based on how they played against pretty bad competition. Brandon Miller put up better numbers in the SEC than the thompsons did against HS kids. Leonard Miller (who is younger) put up better numbers against grown *** men in the g league than the thompsons against HS kids. again, give me ausar at 9, but i'm going to be afraid - very afraid. they are high risk dudes.

I dont think you really understand what I'm saying and I dont blame you because for whatever reason I cant word it properly, but hopefully someone else gets what I'm saying.

And again, if you actually watched the Championship games you would know it was a different level of competition for OTE.

There you go being facetious again. The problem is he’s not a very good three-point shooter or mid-range shooter. The way you and others talk about him is why we are having this conversation to begin with.

The discussion went to the importance of being a great mid range shooter to be a great scorer. that is what im discussing with you. If you dont want to have that discussion then thats ok but that was the point you were originally making and im saying, based off your data, that mid range game doesn't seem so critical since its 3-5 attempts per game which equates to 1 or 2 makes per game which equates to 2-4 points per game (which could be had by going to the paint or line or 3 pointer instead of mid range anyway)

43 players averaged 20 PPG this season compared to 19 players just 10 years ago.

There is a total of 6 more possessions per game for each team from 10 years ago as well.

Ya its seems like its easier to get to 20 points per game in todays game yet more difficult to get to 30 points per game which is the way i like it tbh. Good info.

For an idea of OTE competition. Cameron Boozer (who was 15 at the time) put 28 and 20 on the YNG Dreamerz (the team the Thompson's played in the OTE final) and Boozer's high school team blew them out. they were up by 25 at one time - again this is the best or at least second best team in the league. Amen had 11, 7 and 5 on 3-8 FGs and 1-6 3pt in the 2nd title game against that same team - he was 20 at the time. I get that Cam Boozer is the second best prospect his age, but he was 15. The Thompson's are 20. Amen averaged 16 and 6. Boozer played one game at age 15, his hs team dominated them and he had 28 and 20. that league is straight trash and Amen is out there getting 16 and 6 per night being older than everybody else on the floor.

Ya I have felt like im the only one who doesn't want a thompson twin. Glad to see some info like this.

The mid range debate for me... is just a first world problem. If Cam is so good that we bitch about his lack of a mid range game then we have hit the pay dirt already.

If we are using that as a mark against him shooting wise then I get it. I just think the numbers are good enough, the form looks good enough, and the hand injury is a unique legitimate consideration for why it might have been a smidge low.

For the elite scorers it’s closer to 6-8 PPG. Take that away and it makes their scoring numbers way less impressive. If we are capping Whitmore’s potential at 20 PPG that’s just not that impressive to me as a ceiling.

Efficient 20 ppg on a really good perimeter defender is very exciting. He can build out some midrange stuff later if we need it. There are a few good scorers that do less in the midrange or only shoot it when forced... Giannis, Ant are a couple. Brown isn't doing much there. I wouldn't say that is his ceiling... I'd say its just one of many good potential outcomes.

I just think its third or fourth on the list of worries. Passing and ballhandling will be what holds him back would be my guess. Maybe the shot isn't good enough but I stated my reasons for belief.

The numbers aren’t good enough in the mid-range or off the dribble at all. That was my entire point in all of this lol.
