2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Does anyone else think Josh Green is a good comp for Anthony Black?
no. josh green never played the point coming out of arizona. black was the full time lead guard for arkansas. maybe they look alike or are built somewhat alike. both are plus athletes, in terms of the way they play, skillset, etc - they don't seem much alike at all.

in a nutshell, black is a lead guard through and through, josh green is more straight SG or wing.

The mechanics of Black's shot just look so gross to me. I personally never see it getting better.
Its ugly AF... I get it. I think you can make spot up threes at a decent rate while shooting ugly. I think Ricky Rubio as a shooter might be his ceiling. He will not have the issues at the rim that Ricky did... and it was really that combo that hurt him at times.

He won't be that level of passer but might have a higher ceiling as a defender.

I think Green is bouncier than Black and Black may end up being more of a tank.

I don't really at all. I think their games will be quite a bit different and they are different kinds of athletes.
Really? Josh Green is damn athletic. I challenge you to go look at their college stats. Black is definitely a bit more of a PG, but they are eerily close in counting and advanced stats.

Part of this is looking at Anfernee Simons... and the kid is legit maybe one of the 15-20 best shooters all things considered in the NBA (this is a wild declaration I know) and the kid is also athletic... but he's slightly off the right size... and he may not pass as much as you'd like... there also happens to be a couple guys like this and they need a guy like Black next to them to unlock their full benefit while covering some of their warts... and there just aren't many guys like that.

If it works it will provide a TON of benefits... it may not work though.

I know Green is athletic... I don't think Black is as athletic in a run and jump sense.

The only two big standouts differences is that Black is a high level foul drawer and turnover prone.
