I will also point out Black being a full-time PG at the college level was not by design. He was supposed to share those reps with NSJ, but NSJ spent most of the year injured. Had Nico Mannion been injured like NSJ, we might have seen Green assume a similar role on Arizona.
 
I also think Green's biggest weakness his first two years is that he ended up being a poor shooter who was really scared to miss from deep, which is a thing that I think will also effect Black at first (for how long I do not know).

I just see a lot of chances for Black having a similar role to Green to start his career, especially if he goes to a team with established lead playmakers. Josh Green's passing went overlooked at Arizona, but he's a great passer. He showed a lot of upside this past season with some huge games as a playmaker and his shooting has come along (though he hasnt gotten to where he is doing it with volume).

The type of player they are trying to make Green be... 3 and D type with some extra stuff maybe... is not the type of player teams will try and turn Black into.

So if Dallas drafts Anthony Black (a thing that has been brought up as a possibility and potentially what they ultimately want) you think that's going to be the case?

No... I don't. Look you asked... i see the statistical similarity in college but I don't think even the Mavs would try to make Black a three and D guy. They would have him shoulder some of the ball handling and creating role.

I really don't see it on any level... as players or athletes.

IDK, I think you have a real blind spot then.

I dont think Black is ever going to be able to be a primary creator/playmaker like a JHS will be. He's a guy who will be best paired with a dominant primary who isn't as much a downhill playmaker where he doesnt always have to assume that on-ball role.
 
And these aren't Anti-Black statements. I think that's just his best role. I think he was miscast at Arkansas due to the injuries. Anyone who drafts him to be a primary on-ball guy is doing it wrong imo. He still needs a good amount of on-ball possessions, but he's not someone I would label a PG the more I think about his game. But that is mostly semantics I suppose.

I see him more as a side/secondary action PG who can really change your team's ability in transition and will make all the hustle/athletic plays. Would be elite paired with a guy like JHS. Would also be elite in Indiana. Dont like him as much for Washington.

And I think Green/Black are damn near identical athletes. When we see Black in a NBA open court it's going to be more clear.
