2023 Trade Rumors and Gossip Involving the Jazz

Read that the Blazers want to move Nurkic and get a defensive center that can help protect Lillard. Hello, Walker + Sexton for Nurkic...maybe we do get the three. What defensive is better?
Don’t think Walker moves the needle for them as a contender though.

According to Wasserman at BR, Houston would like to move #20 for a future, protected pick. That would be a nice spot to pick up a shooter (e.g., Jett or Sensabaugh) or someone who is slipping (e.g., George). Also a good spot to pick up Lewis, Cissoko or possibly Leonard Miller for you Miller stans.

I’d give them 28 for 20. That’s still a future pick from that vantage point.

I’d do even better than that. They get that pick if it’s top 28. If it doesn’t convey, they could have all of the Minnesota and Cleveland picks.
And if those don't convey they can have Markkannen, his son Markannensen, and his grandson, Markannen son of Markkannensen the third. Top that. Yes I like Brice that much.

If they weren’t then the market for stars just got corrected hard and that is good for us.

While at the same time it seems like the value of first round picks seems ro have increased. Which is also good for us.

Man Ainge killed it on the gobert and donovan trades.

lol He forced them to pay him just like every first option on any roster does, with the threat of walking leaving them nothing but space. Of course at that point they were not letting him walk, so the leverage was his all along. So they needed to get out from under his thumb is the motivation and pay someone cheaper via draft to do the same thing he was doing and have flex with other roster spots so they continue their pathetic treadmill game plan. They will never tank imo, and they will never be a contender either.
Washington is a joke org. But in this case the Suns are fools, I don't care what anyone says.
They would not been in that position if they had traded him early like we did with Gobert. I agree he had all the leverage at that point but they compounded their mistake of not trading him earlier by signing him to that crazy contract. So at that point he had all the leverage but the franchise could have let him walk.

They are not a smart org, but this trade was not dumb. There is little chance they would ever get more for him than they are, and it's more than the nothing they would get had they not signed him

The Jazz do not want to be bad this coming season. We have no point in trying to tank with 0 picks. We're going to be very active this offseason
