It's a little crazy to me that the Jazz reportedly had Keyonte at 10, which would likely have him above Wallace, Bufkin, and JHS. They seem to acknowledge the need for developing a point guard, but rated the guy with seemingly the least amount of point guard skills of those guards.

I personally don’t buy Keyonte as a PG.

Just for clarification (sorry I'm a little slow), you are saying that they see Sexton as our future point guard, and drafted Keyonte as a future 6th man or 2 guard?

I think by now it’s pretty obvious that “yellow flag” was not an attempt by teams to make him fall but an attempt by his own camp to stop the falling.

I don’t think the Jazz are worried about positional need at all right now. This is rebuilding. You take best player available.

Chances are 75% of the current roster won’t still be with the team by the time they’re truly competitive again.

Good point. Also, Cason does just fine off ball, too.

It’s a big investment to trade up your first pick on who will have a really tough time ever cracking into a starting role. Then again, that size might allow them to roll out legit 3-guard lineups and I gotta imagine that’s what might be guiding their thinking. Which… I like it.

Cason might have just been BPA for them. There was some concern brought up about his medical….but as far as I can tell that was only because he was injured during the season. If there’s no medical issue, he could have been super high on their board.

I think a lot of teams soured on some of the prospects in the too 10, not just Cam. This is what allowed Black and Bilal to rise up into the top 7. I still don’t think it’s unreasonable to think that Wallace > Black, so they might be walking out with someone too 5 on their board.

BTW, are people going to start calling Keyonte puny? He’s not any bigger than Wallace, and Wallace is infinitely better at doing things that require size.
