Jazz draft Keyonte George at 16

Wasn’t sure where to post this, but thought Keynote could use a little popularity bump here.

Even though I wanted Cam, I like George as a prospect. From all accounts he's a hard worker and has natural scoring instincts. I trust the Jazz staff to develop him since he has the good work ethic to benefit from it.

Guys that are god awful with efficiency in college almost never become efficient scorers in the NBA
That's the thing though... His efficiency is not god awful. It is below average, but his raw %s don't reflect his efficiency accurately, because a TON of his shots are 3s and in addition he goes to the line a ton. Just an example ... His TS% is almost identical to Mitchell's coming into the league - .524 vs .532

He was the energizer bunny on both ends....but his batteries didn't have much charge. Hopefully he's in better shape.
Was that game before or after he dropped a lot of weight and before or during his ankle injury? May have something to do with it.

I don't know exactly when the ankle injury happened (I think there were multiple?)....but this game was played in December early on in the year.

Thanks. I guess that would be before injuries really started to bother him, but probably also before he had completely slimmed down to where he is now.

He has lost 20 lbs since the season ended. Last year, he was fighting some injuries. The college game is so bad and it's hard to judge anything from that bush league. The dude is an alpha baller and he has the potential to be great. Jazz took a swing and I bet it pays off.
