2023 NBA Free Agency Thread

Any playmaking PGs available? The team is seriously lacking in that department. I like Sexton as a 6th man, but not as a starting PG with limited playmakers in every other position.
Funny to me we now have to specify "playmaking" PG.

THT if he opts in for Monte Morris would make Cy's head explode but I probably do it.

Its something I'd consider and I think is fair. I am also cool if they think Dunn is this guy I guess. Monte is just so damn efficient... shooting and with his passing/playmaking.

We just need a setup man to help with Lauri/Collins/Kessler. Sexton can do a little bit of this because he can penetrate... but his reads are not what we would call advanced. it may still work though.

I think we are obsessing about this, or maybe I am, because its the current "wart" on the roster. I do think if Ochai does not show some improvement in this area this year then we need to consider him a part of the rotation but not a starter level player.

Not gonna lie... the muscle watch pics of THT got me a little excited. I think this is kind of his make or break season. If he still can't shoot and still has too many turnovers then I think its time to admit he is not brimming with potential and is more of a bench guy with some juice (sometimes the juice is sour... sometimes sweet).

So I just wonder a bit on him... he's never had much space or shooting... the tiny part doesn't bother me a ton because dude is a great defender so I don't think he gets picked on... it definitely affects the type of shots he gets. I just wonder if he can get back to a little less volume and average efficiency if you end up having a guy that improves the defense and can set everyone up. Dude is just an mfer and if the cost isn't prohibitive I'd love to have that in the org.
yeah, there was a time i would have wanted him. he definitely could be a guy, in the right offense, with the right coaching who could dial it back a bit increase the efficiency and be good to have around. i just wish he were 26 rather than 29. not that 29 is over the hill, but ideally, i'd be trying to add good players who are 26 and under. right in that lauri range or younger. just personal preference there - a 29 year old can have five more prime years ahead of him.

At least I don't have to worry about Brooks ending up on the Jazz...that's a relief.

I think it would've been entertaining. He's a solid player, and I don't think he's a bad locker room guy. He's the kind of player other teams hate.

I'm pretty sure many in the Grizzlies fan base even began to hate him by the end.

Yeah, he ran his mouth and couldn't back it up. Was embarrassing for everyone involved. Still, he's not a bad player, and I never heard that his teammates had any problems with him.

I think you've got to go beyond the basics with FVV....Yes his TS% is low, but this man is an analytics darling. His "on paper" case is as strong as anyone. Is he small? Yes he is, but that doesn't change the fact that he's a great defender. He locked up Curry in an NBA finals for crying out loud.

Look at all the good "small" PG's over the years who don't rely on athleticism and analyze their age 29-31 seasons. That is prime time. If FVV wants to play here, we should get him.
