2023 Trade Rumors and Gossip Involving the Jazz

Why create an even worse logjam of mediocre point guards? Fultz makes no sense imo.

We should be looking to acquire younger talent who might be gettable and maybe most of all, shooting guards. RJ Barrett, Zach Lavine, Jaylen Brown. These are names we should be considering depending on the price of course.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but every dollar that the Jazz commit to in the wake of the Collins signing jeopardizes the Jazz's ability to renegotiate and extend Lauri next year. We are a team that is all forwards so I am a little beside myself that people wanna go after Prince. Enough.
This is kinda bunk. We're currently at ~$87 million (Collins, Lauri, Sexton, Kessler, Ochai, 3 new rookies, 4 roster charges) and the cap will probably be close to $140 million.

It’ll be 136M. And it’ll likely have huge jumps the next few years.

Some Jazzfanz are already trading the Jazz rookies before they have played one summer league game. Then they want to start giving out first round picks like candy. Prince will just take away time from developmenting our young players. A big NO for me. I think the Jazz need to thin out the depth just a little. Part of a championship team is to find stars and develop your young guys so they are ready to play a part in competing for a championship. People need to be a little patient.

We’d be at 77.6 million next summer with Collins, Barrett, Lauri, Kessler, and Agbaji. Add in Hendricks and George and we’re at about 7.9M more or 85.5 million for seven guys if we somehow unload Sexton prior.

Compare this to the Wolves who are spending over 100 million on just the center position. . .

Between Lauri, Collins, Hendricks, Sensabaugh, Simone, and Luka I think we are more than set at the 3/4 spots.

Lavine? Hell to the ****ing no! The contract is bad and so is him. Gets buckets but is doing sooooo much bad decisions in the clutch and even if he tries in defense he is so so lost too often and would cost games.

But other than that I am ok with those suggestions.

I realize that we all have access to the Jazz cap info and can see what’s going on, but without reading through it and doing the homework I feel completely confident in saying that in no way, shape, or form would Danny Ainge jeopardize Lauri’s next contract with the organization in favor of John Collins and a couple of average NBA players.

At this point, unless dealing him yields Utah a legit superstar, he’s priority #1 on the their quest to rebuild.

I’ll retract Lavine. I thought he was still just 26 y/o (he’s 28) and didn’t realize he made that much.

Agreed. The only reason I could see the jazz going for Prince is if they felt he was a significant upgrade over our other forwards so we end up releasing someone else. Otherwise we don't need him.

Read a rumour mill of Gordon Heywood wanting to return to jazz I say it’s a big fat no he walked out on the team to sign with Boston when he had it all at the jazz

My initial instinct is **** him. My next instinct is **** him and his wife.

Then I thought maybe he’d be good at the 2 for us…once his contract is up, we could reup him on the super cheap.

No thanks. He’s 33 and a half when the season starts.

No way this is ever happening. I think, besides the fact that he is just a terrible fit for us right now, Smith is enough of a fan to know what Hayward did and would never allow him to come back. I'd rather take a 70 year old Karl Malone over Hayward right now.
