Dame Time

Yup, and honestly, I think ****ing the Pelicans with a Herb Jones offer might be more interesting than the Austin Reaves stuff. You can find a number for the Pelicans that will scare them off. You cant do that with Reaves.
I don’t think they’ll let it get to that point, but I’d be interested in making an offer if the Jazz can figure out how to square all the numbers. Top-down roster building. Go get the best basketball players you can - by any means necessary and then let competition and coaching sort out the details.

In Tony Jones’ latest piece, he says the Jazz are targeting players age 24-28 as they continue to build the roster. They want players around Lauri’s age.

That suggests to me Dame isn’t a priority for the Jazz. Still believe Luka is their primary target at trade deadline or ‘24 summer.
I think the only way Utah is involved in a Portland/Dame trade is a three way with Philly. Philly trades Maxey to Utah, Harris to Portland. Portland sends Dame to Philly. Utah sends pieces and picks to Portland.

That would give Portland picks to rebuild with and an expiring asset in Harris they can trade. Utah gets Maxey, a great shooter and 20 ppg guard. Philly gets Lillard. This is probably the best trade Portland can get.

It gives Utah a very young 20 ppg player for their picks and Philly gets another person to try to win with Embiid. But, I'm not even sure Utah can do something like this with Collins now.

I would love this, but it would be heavily dependent on what the Sixers can get back for Harden. They really need to throw in some picks as well for this to work

But they can agree to deals now but not officially signed for a few days?

I could see Grant backing out of that now.
I don't see Grant backing out of that. Who else is going to give him that type of payday? If anyone is going to want to back out it has to be the Blazers.

I really think that’s a trade that helps everyone.

Utah trades 3 picks and role players for salary filler and gets Maxey.

Portland trades Lillard and gets Harris and Utah’s picks.

Philly trades Maxey and Harris and gets Lillard.

Yeah, sorta dumb thought from me. His contract is wild but if they trade Dame, POR hates that deal so bad now.

I mean, Sexton, Olynyk, THT and remaining cap space I think get the Jazz to matching.

Pretty sure Portland would want one or two of the draftees to go along with that package and picks.

I would have loved Dame about 5 years ago, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it, though. However, if we got Maxey instead, he seems to be the type of young PG that we would need.

He is such a passive aggressive bitch. Close to Mitchell in that regard.
Lillard stayed loyal for 11 years and made it out of the first round as many times as they ended up in the lottery. Donovan sabotaged this team 5 years in and planted a story about him running and jumping around a golf course when he got traded to Cleveland. They are not the same.

There are very few players as disingenuous as Donovan Mitchell. Dude is heir to Derek Fisher.
