2023 NBA Free Agency Thread

We light seconds on fire. Why aren’t we doing this with them?
Well, we don’t have them, for starters.

Front offices have been incredibly uncreative until recently and stuff like that requires at least two willing parties.

Extremely? Probably not. And we don’t know how high those 2nds will be. If they’re top-40 then they’re almost 1sts.

But to be clear, this is a GREAT way to turn extra 2nds into something more useful (more useful because it trades superfluous quantity for additional quality).

Yeah, probably not extremely since it involves the lesser of their pick and the Wizards (didn’t say that at first) but for a couple of seconds it’s well worth it.

I kinda wish NBA teams only owned swaps. Would end tanking….well, there’s still not a great incentive to compete every night and win but there would be no incentive to lose on purpose. It would be liberating if half the teams in the league weren’t in a dilemma where winning might be worse for the franchise.

I think JC's deal means he can't be traded for 6 months... I think DA operates in the long term so a short term log jam is not a big concern for him.

I do think one of Sexton or THT is moved this summer. I would all but guarantee one of JC/THT/Sexton is moved by year end. I think JC's renegotiate and extend deal takes him out of the conversation until the trade deadline.
Is the ink dry on the Clarkson deal? Or, like, could it still be something that is agreed to in principle, but could be a part of a S&T scenario that develops in the next few weeks? (I don't have time to follow this kind of ish; appreciate your help).
