Wow, monster game from R. Bell: he made 3 shots! The fact that he is being praised for such a good game shows just how bad he has been. 9 points from your starting SG is very weak and that is by far his best output of the season. Yes, he played good D but overall his D does NOT make up for a non-existent O.
It was very interesting to see how the Jazz were able to jump out to an early lead with their wings hitting a few shots. I have tended to correlate the slow starts with Big Slow but now I see it is more likely R. Bell and 4 on 5 offense.
Looks like we are stuck with Bell as a starter for quite awhile now. Lets hope he keeps it up.
Edit: Opposing 2 guards have a PER of 19.4 when Raja's on the court (with an efg% of .556). Overall, opposing 2 guards have a PER of 12.8 against the Jazz (with an efg% of .465).
Burks has played exclusively at the 2, and while he's been on the court opposing 2's have accumulated a PER of 3.4. 82games.com has also included some of Howard's minutes as minutes at the 2 (and none of Hayward's...which is a mistake IMO), and apparently a small amount to both Harris and Tinsley. They all do quite well in opponents' PER (at the 2). CJ Miles comes in at 21.1.Is Josh Howard a two? I haven't looked up Howard, nor checked the stats today, but the last I checked, while Bell opponent PER was 19.4, Miles and Burkes were both over 25.
