Collin Sexton SZN

Both he and JC were not good and easily the reason we continue to struggle against formidable defensive teams. Not sure why agbaji is seeing 9 min a game unless it’s just we need another creator/ball control on the floor. Sexton could be decent if he was red lighted from driving into the paint with a set defense. JC is a lost cause

Sexton is a good finisher in traffic

The valid criticism is that he's a bad decision maker in traffic
yes, decision-making is always going to be Colin's weak suit. He's gotten better over the years, but that might be because he started out HORRIBLY. Those first couple of years in Cleveland were absolutely brutal.

Sexton went from "I'm a starter" to I'm losing all my minutes to the worst guard rotation in the NBA

He is just awful for the team. If he played 15-20 a night it would be fine. But his role is too big and he is just as bad as ever on defense and tunnel vision. Against the Pacers Lauri got visibly upset with Sexton for not paying attention at the end of the 1st and trying to hurry. Then Sexton noticed the whole team yelling at him and jacked up a bad shot. Then later in the 3rd Sexton got the ball and drove in Lauri called for the ball because he was wide open everyone was sagging in to defend against what was inevitable a Sexton drive into 3 guys. Lauri called for the ball and then slumped his shoulders and stood still knowing nothing would matter. This is the stuff that drove his teammates crazy in Cleveland it seems to be wearing on Lauri and I assume others.

It is all very exacerbated when you have THT with the bad turnovers, bad drives, and over dribbling (at least he passes) as well as Clarkson who is a lot the same as Sexton.

I was really hopeful when we picked him up and coming into this season but he is now my least favorite player to watch on the Jazz which is saying something. Maybe we can keep him if we trade a bunch of other guys and limit his role, but honestly I would rather him ride the pine for now.

He is averaging 18.9 minutes per game. Career low. And he is probably playing worse than he has in his entire career in that role.
And the jazz suck pretty bad

I kinda feel bad for Sexton (if it's possible to feel bad for someone who will have made over $54 million playing losing, meh level NBA basketball after this season).

From what I've read, he seems like a good guy off the court, always supporting his teammates and saying the right things in interviews, but when he picks up a basketball... he just can't help himself. It's Jekyll and Hyde. Sexton seems totally incapable of changing his game. Some guys look off their open teammates, but Collin simply doesn't see them. He has the worst case of "blinders on" I've ever seen in a pro player.

I really wanted it to work for Sexton. I loved his attitude, but he just can't adjust the way he plays. The problem is, now everyone knows it the chance of a trade is very slim. We really need to be done with the Sexton experience, I just don't see how we do it.
