2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I wish. @Elizah Huge could maybe find it.
It was a nice move of the dribble with a really pretty floater off glass iirc (from the right angle)

It was a pretty basic dribble change of direction step through and finish. If he can do that… shoot it… and play defense like he has… then we have something damn good. Not everyone has to be Lebron.

He did start out behind the 3 point line and went through the legs with the dribble.

Also a few plays later (no highlight of it because it was just a missed shot) a piston player missed a shot that went hard off the rim for a long rebound that should have went over Hendricks head to a piston player but Hendricks used every bit of his length and leaping ability to go WAY up and snatch it with one hand

It was very impressive and it's something that he will probably do on a regular basis on the future.

He can't do that against anyone capable of playing defense.

But baby steps I guess
He’s strung a few dribbles together enough times and he seems to be okay with the pump fake baseline drive that I think he can learn to do enough other stuff on offense besides shoot the three.

One thing I’ve noted on that baseline drive move he hasn’t committed the Royce O Beale step out of bounds or travel. I know it’s a small thing but it shows some control which is good.

Bilal was 1-1 last night in 18 minutes. Wiz won by a point and bilal was a negative 13.

Scoot was 0-5

Jarace walker didn't play

Anthony black didn't take a single shot in 20 minutes and was a negative 20 for the game. (had 1 point. 1-2 from the line)

cason wallace was 1-4 in 20 minutes and was a negative 5 for the game (2 points)

Hendricks was 3-5 (1-2 from 3) in 16 minutes. 4 rebounds. 1 block. zero turnovers. zero fouls. 7 points and a plus 7 for the game.

How the tables are turning. Hoping this trend continues. All them dudes were drafted ahead of Tay Henny

Cason wasn’t drafted ahead but the point still stands. Bilal has been rough the past 3 games but before that he was playing very well. Black has been playing good but the Magic don’t trust him to finish games. His scoring ability is his biggest question mark at the moment.

Ya and I want to make it clear that I was just joking around. None of this means anything. These are all super young, 1 and done rookies.
It was just stupid of those who hated on hendricks after a tiny little sample size of meaningless games.

We're getting to the point in the season where some of the rookies are getting tired as they are playing the most games they have ever played, in some of the recent games I've watched of these guys you can tell they just don't have as fresh of legs. We are also getting to the point where there are scouting reports on these guys and so they are going to have to work through those things and find ways to be effective after being scouted.

FWIW, I agree with your broader point that Hendricks is performing on par with those who were picked around the same spot as him.

That single play seems like the most important and promising development for the team in the past several weeks. If he can make that a regular thing---we definitely something damn good!

Ok it was a nice move….but it is sad it is the most exciting thing to happen for this team in weeks. Besides the do or die win last night of course.

You cant think that was a good move. I cackled when I watched it live.
I gave a breakdown earlier and said it was basic but he did it clean. It wasn’t bad or ugly or klunky or anything. Doesn’t have to be Jokic.

Last nights game was great as a whole.
