Dwill's Blog

[SUP][/SUP]

Drafting garbage players like hayward did not help keep dwill happy. The direction of the jazz was awful and thy got 1 good pick last year in alex but kanter is the next jazz lottery bust

I've said it repeatedly, and it most CERTAINLY bears repeating again, but Deron should be given a standing ovation. He was just what this franchise needed post Stockton-Malone. He took the reins as soon as Sloan let him and never looked back. Last year there was some obvious turmoil, but us peons have absolutely no idea what really happened.

I also thought that blog was pretty cool. I'm sure other athletes do it, although I've never actively looked, but Deron clearly dedicated some time to writing that for his fans. If I was in the NBA with D-Will's contract I'd be a lot more into things NOT dealing with the idiotic masses. Regardless, it sounds like he loved being on the Jazz as much as we loved watching him.

If anyone boos tonight I'll be humiliated for the fan base.

Go Jazz!!!

Very difficult situation, this. Very difficult. Terrible...truly terrible, to be put in this situation as a fan. I follow both sides.

EDIT:

Very nice contribution by Deron, assuming he really wrote it. Also, we are assuming he really feels that way and is not trying to engage in damage-control. Either way, it'll be awesome seeing the dude back in the DC!

To late.

In all seriousness though why get all worked up? You know it is going to happen. I guarantee he will get boos.

Jazz fans boo and they wonder why the national media thinks UTah is filled with a bunch of angry morons. Besides the fact that it doesn't show potential free agents that Jazz fans have any class. What is with all the vindictiveness? Life goes on. Time to move forward and show appreciation for all the good things the former players did for the franchise.

He only signed a three year deal. Never said anything like "I want to retire here"

Durant and Rose make comments like that all the time.

If anything he hinted at media he would leave or look at his options.

Deron could have signed a longer contract with the idea that he could just demand a trade if he wanted out, like others have done. Instead he left his options open and was honest about not committing to the team if they weren't winning. He was completely honorable in signing a shorter contract. Some people just want to whine about the fact he wouldn't commit unconditionally. I don't blame him a bit.

Very sad that all those ******** booed deron tonight. I mean seriously. Everytime he touched the ball? I feel bad for him. I really believe he liked it here

What makes you think he didn't?
He and his agent would never commit to staying in Utah past the end of his contract. A verbal commitment was all KOC or Greg would have needed and I guarantee you a trade would not have beem made. Just wait until he leaves NJ. They invested a ton in him. Yes, it was entirely their "fault" since Deron said he would not give them a promise. But that franchise is about to be devastated, having traded away three first rounders and Harris. Utah simply could not take the risk that Deron would just walk away.

I don't blame Deron. That was his choice. But I applaud Greg and KOC for pulling the trigger - as did most of the owners and GM's around the league.
