What did you guys think of Mike Smith filling in for Thurl last night?

I like the idea of changing the team up just for the sake of change. I dont think Mike Smith is any better than Thurl.
 
I generally watch the games with volume down really low. I don't love Bolerjack and I basically mute him, so I have no opinion on how Smith did. Sometimes on the halftime show he has a decent take on what's going on.
 
I don't listen to commentary anymore. From what I remember of Smith, he was alright, just a generic "expert" kind of guy. I actually think Boler+Thurl (no Holly) wasn't a terrible broadcast because they were so unserious it was fun.
 
I like him, and I agree with Cy, a bit of change of the lineup every once in a while is good.
 
I watched on ESPN last night, so I didn't listen to him. But, I thought he was one of the best announcers in the league when he was with the Clippers. I think he was on his way to being a national NBA announcer before, well, the charges. I appreciate the Jazz giving him a second chance. I really like him. I think he is super objective and gives very clear and concise information for the average fan. I also think he has good insight for advanced fan. Pairing him (or anyone) with Boler is going to have certain challenges.
 
Im neutral about him. Dont really care if its him or thurl.

Basically this. Holly is a pro but not meant for a three person type of role. Smith and Thurl might be a bit dry. It’d be nice if there was someone with some humor that wouldn’t be confused at what is happening during the game.

I was on the national feed last night and end up in the visitor feed a lot. Just lol when Boler doesn’t understand the rules or says weird stuff at this point.
