The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

A friend of mine died from COVID. 50 years and in AMAZING heath. Gym rat. Dead from covid.
Some of friends were also hospitalized from covid. Which sucks and is expensive.

A girl I've known since we were 2 years old lost her husband 45 years old to covid.

Their kid was 17.

People laughing at precautions and vaccines piss me off.

Those vaccines don't work if everybody doesn't take them. Which is why we are seeing a resurgence

I guess they could still be testing the covid vaccines right now and not release them to the public yet until they have 10 years of data but idk if that would have helped us much up to this point.
Maybe not even trying to make a vaccine was the right move and would have saved the most lives. Idk

dude a vaccine works if it stops the person who takes it getting the condition. The Covid vaccine didn't fail because not enough people took it. it just didn't stop you getting or transmitting Covid, it did help in the outcome with people who are elderly, immune compromised or in poor metabolic health. We haven't had a vaccine for the common cold after how many years, just treatments to help the outcome.

Trump said to inject disinfectant, not drink bleach. The media I saw told me he said to inject disinfectant. Because I literally watched him say it in a press conference lol.

Can you provide a link? I saw it too (as we’ve covered, I pay a lot of attention to politics). Been a long time but if you can find a link I’d love to see it. Probably good for us both to see it. I’ll see what I can find.

I will acknowledge that Trump is all kinds of inarticulate. Very clumsy, yes, but not nearly nefarious like the media paints him. The media is all kinds of dishonest. Hoo boy! We have plenty of evidence of that.

But pardon me while I take my time getting back to you. I’m tryna watch the Jazz game but I’ve been so busy w this thread I’m still in the first quarter. Sheesh. Go Jazz

What all governments and all heath officials and the CDC and WHO and all scientists should do next time a pandemic hits is nothing at all.
Don't try to find out medicines to treat it. Don't give advice on how to stop the spread. Don't shut anything down. Certainly don't try to create a vaccine.
Don't treat anyone with the disease at the hospitals.

They should just sit back and let it run it's course. No one could say that they lied. No one could say they were oppressive. No one could say they were political or bias.

Just let the average joes do our research on the virus and figure it out ourselves. I will grab some of my equipment from the lab at my work and try to solve the pandemic myself next time. Maybe it will work out better

you can't just swing to that extreme obviously sarcastic view, it's a petty ridiculous arguement.

The COVID vaccines may not have been as effective as initially hoped, but they have been effective. Much better than not getting them and much better than getting COVID.

This is not really debatable.

i don't see anyone laughing at any of this. A lot of us had something similar happen. Or saw terrible consequences of excessive actions.

That is how vaccines work.
The measles had been almost completely eradicated. Everyone was getting vaccinated. Now people don't trust vaccines. People are getting the vaccine as much. Measles making a comeback. Same with HPV virus

As for Trump. I never blamed him. A pandemic is an extremely tough thing to deal with. He was ****ed. Shut things down? Everyone mad at him. Don't shut things down. Everyone mad at him.

You got a few things wrong there too btw. Trump said to inject disinfectant, not drink bleach. The media I saw told me he said to inject disinfectant. Because I literally watched him say it in a press conference lol.

Yeah, it would not matter who was in office. Blame would go around in our current political environment. PPE was very limited and needed in hospitals. So the government told us not to wear (or just make) make masks. They knew they were lying, but wanted to have PPE available for medical professionals until more could be made.

Trump wanted to shut all borders and Democrats called him a bigot for doing so. It may have helped but we now know it was too late.

I do not like Trump, but Hillary would have similar opposition and complaints. I think the government tried their best. Hopefully they'll be more prepared. Next time a pathogen could much deadlier.

the key thing you are ignoring is that it is factually incorrect to say this as a broad across the board statement. The result of Covid and the vaccine benefit is wildly different depending on the person's age, health status, possible co-morbidities. weight status. These factors overwhelmingly affect the likelihood of the outcome of having Covid. In addition the protection gained from someone's immune system from having had a Covid infection was widely discounted. It is not a binary issue across the board. This is also not debatable.

You dodged my question by posing stuff not relevant to the tweet, which was an attempt to obfuscate. I didn’t fall for it.

BENTLEY you can't really be this dumb so you are obviously trolling.

Don’t argue facts with Sardines. He doesn’t know what they are.

No, Thriller definitely dodged my question. Inadvertently maybe - like I said to him, he was probably just emotionally triggered, so he proceeded to vomit a buncha irrelevant stuff. He even forgot my question and had to ask what it was. Even he got lost in all his rhetoric.

I don’t think much of your intellect either so you can think me a troll or just genuinely dumb. I don’t mind.

You seriously didn't see trump suggest injecting disinfectant? That is quite insane to me
