Jazz trade Fonteccio to Pistons for 2024 2nd

All of you who act like the sky is falling ask yourselves these questions:
  • How many players do we have that are better than Tec? I say 6 at least.
  • How many 3&D wing defenders are there who are better than Tec? I say he is maybe fringe top 20.
Im not a fan of this trade either, but its not causing me massive FOMO. We can EASILY upgrade on his role.

Lets pass the final judgement on trading away the 7th best player in a .500 team after we see if there are other moves.

He's been perfectly fine in this thread but you are acting like a BBB.
He isn't just talking about this thread though. And you know that

It's a serious hit to the team's playoffs hopes this season.
I agree. I don't like the trade.
I can't do anything about it.
So I'm excited to see what Ochai and Hendricks can do.

How many free agents get paid significantly less than they are worth?

how do you determine value except by finding out how much someone is actually willing to pay you?

This is one of your more curious takes.

Seems like you lack conviction in your opinion. Or maybe you are just backtracking from the edge of the cliff?
Dude, I'm not going to take a canvas of all the teams with money and then canvas all the upcoming free agent class just to come up with informed predictions on free agency offers. That isnt fun or interesting to me. I think Simone is worth 15 million dollars per year. THat's what I said. Stop being stupid. I'm not predicting anything, I'm just saying what he's worth to me as a percentage of the cap.

Obviously. Only 20% of 2nd round picks make it long term in the NBA. And most of those never become starters.
Very true but there are some who have. Jokic, Millsap, Mark Eaton was a 4th round pick. Here are some others. The percentages are against you but there is talent especially at the top of the 2nd round.

  • Cliff Robinson Draft class: 1989 Pick: 36 Team: Portland Trail Blazers ...
  • Toni Kukoc Draft class: 1990 Pick: 29 Team: Chicago Bulls ...
  • Antonio Davis Draft class: 1990 Pick: 25 ...
  • Rashard Lewis Draft class: 1998 Pick: 32 ...
  • Manu Ginobili Draft class: 1999 Pick: 57 ...
  • Gilbert Arenas Draft class: 2001 Pick: 31 ...
  • Carlos Boozer Draft class: 2002 Pick: 35 ...
  • Kyle Korver Draft class: 2003 Pick: 51 ...

No dudes, these guys have convinced me. The Jazz have completely thrown the towel in on the entire season, and maybe even the franchise as a whole. The front office only cares about one thing: losing as many games and probably as much money as possible. Hey why not zig when everybody else is zagging? It's a bold strategy cotton.

Of course. But the list of second round picks who were out of the NBA within a couple of years can fill a book.

Look… if you’re agreeing with TU about something chances are you aren’t on the right side of the argument.

TU is negative on pretty much anything. In some creative ways I might add lmao. But if you’re always on the opposite side of TU, you’re doing the same thing just being a homer. There’s no critical thinking going on.
