I'm down for whatever this ride is though. It already feels like DA has made more trades then ever I can remember. That part is fun.
Kessler is not a g league player who can't stay on the court.I wish I knew what this fanbase wants.
I mean people seem to be ecstatic at the possibility of finally getting rid of Kelly Olynyk and replacing him with a G-League player who may not be able to stay on the floor in actual NBA games.
Do we want to say goodbye to any playoff aspirations, blow this thing up and watch bad basketball the rest of the way... and then immediately pivot to signing a 27 year old Lauri Markkanen to a long term max deal, which is a win-in-the-near-future move if there ever was one?
What do we want?
Who has a higher ceiling? Kessler and Hendricks or KO?Which route are we taking then?
Again, Kessler is a good, proven player. It's not just about getting rid of Tec and Kelly, but who they'll be replaced by (so far, nobody who's a proven NBA player).
The Woj Pod trade deadline day 4 is out. Lots of Jazz stuff in there..
- Very complementary of Hardy (said he has done COTY level job this year)
- Woj said we can come out of this week with both better team AND more picks.
- We are definitely in a lot of discussions right now.
- KO for Warriors is a real thing. No mention on what we could get back.
- Bruce Brown discussions are active and ongoing. Didnt mention us (just Knicks), but says there are other teams (we have been connected)

You aren’t thinking on a long enough timeline. Locke says the Jazz are targeting a 2028-2030 championship window. The decisions we make on role players and veterans who may be out of the league by then have zero bearing. What matters is maximizing the value we get now and maintaining flexibility for when a star to pair with Lauri becomes available. It's not just about getting rid of Tec and Kelly, but who they'll be replaced by (so far, nobody who's a proven NBA player).

Lauri will be on the side of 30 by then. Safe bet he's dealt if that's the case. You aren’t thinking on a long enough timeline. Locke says the Jazz are targeting a 2028-2030 championship window. Eh. 30 probably isn't much of an issue for a player of Lauri's archetype.Lauri will be on the side of 30 by then. Safe bet he's dealt if that's the case.
and we probably ain't contending with lauri being our no 1 option anyways. we will contend when lauri is our secondary or even tertiary. he can be the seasoned vet that space the floor thenEh. 30 probably isn't much of an issue for a player of Lauri's archetype.
Dirk won a title at age 33.
