Bring it. Trump could say his house is way bigger and more expensive than it is and wouldn't have any problem (the equivalent of me saying I caught a bigger fish than I really did). Once he puts the lies down on loan applications that's when the problems start. The fact that you think trump is the first person to go to court for fraud is kind of funny and definitely shows you are drinking the koolaid he is serving up.

My beef is that for half a billion dollars there better be a jury and due process. My objection is the same objection I have to capitol punishment. I do not think the state should unilaterally have that much power. Twelve citizens in a jury isn't much of a bulwark but it is something, and you should absolutely be allowed to defend yourself, to tell your side of the story, before being declared guilty with effectively your entire life on the line.

You should watch some episodes of judge Judy. There is no jury involved with those trials and many of them involve the defendant being on trial for fraud.

I see cases on judge Judy where people are being tried in civil court for fraud all the time.

Judge Judy is not court. It is all parties agreeing to put a dispute before an arbitrator that, with cameras and a television set, is meant to look like court, but has no authority outside of arbitration.

This discussion is about trump and his fraud case that recently finished up and whether it's unprecedented for a judge to hand out a sentence in civil court for fraud.

That TV court is arbitration and not court. It’s shaped society’s understanding of court and the legal system by what they’ve been exposed to in examples of things that originate from watching arbitration but it is not the court of law.
