Maybe not, but do you think that’s what he’d be thinking about? Or is it more likely he’d be thinking about being the young, rookie coach who wins a championship (the youngest in any relevant NBA history) and gets lots of attention as a prodigy with a very long career in front of him?
As alluring as it may sound to coach for an obscure franchise that has no clue what its plan is and how leisurely the pressure is off, guys are competitive and want to win and cement a legacy. Win a title as the youngest coach since Riley to do so (and reasonably younger) with a historic franchise getting media attention and you can solidify a minimum of a 25 year HC career off of that at his age.
Instead he gets to look at next season where the goal is to determine whether or not we’ll convey our pick.
