2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

How does Edey project as a player in the short roll? How long will he need to read the game?
He makes basic reads well. Like I've said earlier, he has only played basketball since age 15, so there is room for those kinda if improvements more than most guys his age (another month if being 21, so fairly young for a senior).

The best aspect of him is that he has incredible hands. Can't jump super high, but his catch radius is really impressive, even on low passes and he doesn't let doubles fluster him into turnovers.

I have him in the exact wrong spot on my draft board and can't decide if I should move him up or down. I have him at 17ish... which if he hits and is awesome you can't really say you loved him. If he sucks and can't play then I should have had him in the 20s or 30s. I'm in a no win situation and will pick a side soon.

I'd probably have him the same. I'm not overly impressed by many in this draft, so I can see him sneaking into the late lotto for me. I could see him having a Valanciunas kind of career if things break right, but I don't see the high potential that Saint does.

I can understand having Edey pretty high in the draft, because of the overall strength of the draft. WIth Edey... you know he can at least play and be useful player in your rotation. You have a floor... probably not very valuable floor(backup center), but at least you won't worry that he would be out of the league in a few years. And if Cy is right that he's the next Yao... then ... it might be the best pick since Jokic. I guess?!

The rule of five. Take how he ranks in the draft amongst his position and times it by 5 and add five. That's his most likely peak in the league. 3rd best center in the draft. Times by five then add 5. His likely peak is the 20th best center. Good for a backup center on a championship team.
