The Official We Must Draft Cody Williams Thread!

Cody Williams came off the bench for Colorado. I watched this 2 march madness games and he did not look good. I was really high on him a couple months back but I do not think he's anywhere near his brother at all

Gasol brothers? That's all i can think of tho
Lonzo and LaMelo were both gonna be really good if no injuries... which also btw is telling. a genetic factor probably to be more prone to injuries. so if there was a 4th ball brother who had lots of Buzz, I'd be weary

If you're a believer in pedigree wouldn't you not want Williams? There's never been two all star brothers iirc.
Well like I said, if his floor is 7th man on a good team, that is value no doubt. And I think Lamelo and Lonzo could have been Allstars if health wasn't an issue. But yeah I get what you mean... small sample size regardless. It's a fair point. Lopez brothers (1 Allstar), 3 Holidays (1 all star), Millsap brothers (1 Allstar). But what about brothers where there is no Allstar but they have very similar careers? perhaps what we can extrapolate from that is that brothers can replicate similar results (Plumlees, Sellers, Jaron and Jason Collins, etc)

Also, since you share 50% DNA match with parents as you do with siblings, any father son examples we can draw from where both had similar comparable impact on winning?

Micheal Thompson/ Klay Thompson is the best example I can think of, but Micheal couldn't shoot right? haha

Bill Walton/Luke Walton

Steph Curry/Dell Curry

Rick Barry/ Brent Barry (umm... maybe considering eras Brent Barry would be a legend had he played in the 60's. Also Jon Barry played pro)

Kobe Bryant/ and Joe Jelly Bean Bryant

Well hell all these not necessarily helping my case if the goal is nabbing at least a fringe Allstar, but again if I am confident Cody Williams would have a 10+ year career and be a winning player playing 20 mins a night, I'd be open to it at #8.

If Cody is sitting there at #8 I'm fine if the Jazz pick him based on his archetype alone.

If they luck out and get the #1 pick I'm taking Sarr.

If they luck out but end up in the top 4 I'm probably taking BPA who I believe is Sheppard even if it means potentially trading Keyonte for other assets.

He's somewhere in the 3-5 range of my "favorite" prospects (using that word very liberally) but I just cannot imagine he slips to 8-9. IMO we'd almost have to move up for him, and if we move up, I'd rather it be for Knecht.

That was after his injury. Earlier in the season, he was a starter and a lead ball handler. That's why in December/January he was talked about as a top-4 pick.

I think Risacher + Buzelis + Williams are a fair debate at this point. Risacher didn't show anything new in the 2nd half of his season, and his shooting/finishing regressed. Buzelis started playing more assertively overall, but his outside shooting never clicked.

With Cody, if he can improve his physicality his game could really open up. He's at an age now where that should start happening.

Cody Williams came off the bench because he struggled trying to play through injuries. Some you guys are putting way too much emphasis on his end of season compared to the first half of the season when he was actually healthy. If we end up taking him at 8 then we should all be very happy because he is going to be a really good player. I don't know if he is going to be a star like his brother but I'm confident he can be a Cam Johnson caliber of player. He wasn't a high volume 3pt shooter at Coloroado but I think he progresses to that type of player pretty quickly.

Based on?

The NBA is just made for guys who are long, can self-create and can get downhill--even more so these days with the spacing teams are able to create. Siakam made one 3 (1/4), missed half his FTs (5/10) and finished with 36/13. Meanwhile, Dame needed to shoot his *** off to finish with 35.

Weird to champion a guy who had the worst BPM of all their starters in a blowout playoff loss.

@Ferguson_Mellochill , give me a good game of Williams that showcases the best his case as an NBA prospect. I want to see what I missed on when watching his play in the tournament.
