2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Locke is talking a lot about the draft could mean the Jazz are looking to just trade out of the entire 1st round this year.

I don't think the Jazz will trade out of the draft, mainly because several teams are trying to move picks and the Jazz's picks probably won't bring back much in a trade. There could be 8 or 10 picks on the market just in the 1st round.

Sarr, Risacher, Clingan, Topic, Sheppard, Williams and Castle are all likely gone before 10. Detroit allegedly likes Buzelis and there's some connection there with his agent, but who knows.

Knecht, Dillingham, Carter and Holland seem most likely to be there at #10, with Salaun being something of a wildcard. Why am I not excited.

Proganda post #2 for today. Man ..he just eats blocks for breakfast in this video. He also doesn't delay on his second bounce, he switches fast to the perimeter and he shows range on his shot and he passes, drives and he runs the floor fast. Granted most of the blocks are on guards but there is one block on a guy who is super heavy, big and long. He takes the bump and eats up the ball on a block. That will translate.

He’s not as fluid as I was hoping, but he’s big, he plays hard and tries to make the right play. I think he’ll play in the league, but he needs a solid year or two of development and it’s not clear if he’ll ever be a starter.

I think he’s a better prospect than Kabengele a few years back, if that’s worth anything.

Good call back on Kabengele and Kabengele was a much better prospect.

If the Jazz can't move up for someone they really like, and no one obvious falls, I think they're going to seriously consider Kyshawn George at #10. He's long, he makes some plays with his passing and he can shoot the ball. His lack of explosion results in him not being able to beat defenders, and he rarely gets to the rim, so he'll probably be rendered a floor spacer and complementary player in the mold of a Joe Ingles. However, he still fits the Jazz potentially as a cog who defends on the perimeter, moves the ball and makes open shots.

Ron Holland would give the Jazz some defensive playmaking and some rim finishing, but the lack of shooting is pretty glaring.

It’s popular to compare everyone to Jaden McDaniels these days….but I actually think Ron Holland fits that mold. Yeah….the shot making/number one option stuff isn’t real. But you combine those physical tools with a dog mentality and you’ll probably find yourself with a really good defender.

Please stop. The Jazz would trade their pick before wasting it on George at 10.

But Jaden can shoot it at a decent level..... Not really comparable at all. Different type of athletes. Different players completely.
