2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Topic had a bad camp lol. I’m guessing he ends up falling to 10. If he’s there I take him. I wouldn’t move up to make it happen.

He does. But #1 imma need to see an official measurement before I give him a 7' wingspan. #2 plenty of guys that are bigger pgs aren't good on defense. He's a fine prospect. Castle and Topic should be in the same tier imo. Just think Castle is going to be easier to fit next to other guys.
My wingspan eye test red flags were up... but coming in 6.5 inches short is not something I would have guessed. Would have though in the 6-9 range was more reasonable. Maybe when they measured him the first time he hadn't clipped his nails in like 5 years.

The power of suggestion is so strong when it comes to wingspans.

I don't feel too differently because I didn't really believe the 7'0 measurement and even if he did have a long wingspan it was not affecting things on the court. I will take trex arms that can affect the game over long arms that do nothing. Topic's height helps him with some things, but as far as defense, who he can guard, and who he can play with....he's not that much different from another tiny guard. He's a zero position defender who also does not contribute to defense in other ways (rebounding/deflections/steals) ect.

I see it as 50/50 now for him falling even past 10.
I mean, if he doesnt go 4 or 8, then where does he go?

I have no reason to believe Ainge actually likes Topic. Cant really point to anyone he has ever drafted being like Topic. Once he gets past Utah he could really really fall. Not being able to work out for teams might be a huge blow.

A different version of what happened to Whitmore. Its part of the reason I may try and move back to 12-17ish if I can get something for my trouble. Take Edey, Rob, Collier, Holland, Topic whoever is sliding further than they maybe should. In the draft there is certainly a chucking darts element... it feels more chucky this year.

I could see OKC taking Topic at 12... not a fit at all but talented and they don't have a rotation spot for a rookie right now anyway. Its a way to kick the can/asset forward a bit maybe. Might need to move Giddy first.
