2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

One thing I've never seen anyone actually look into is "his form looks fine though". I'm not saying that kind of statement doesn't have merit, but I'm actually not sure if that's just something people say or an actual trend. In theory, if technique is bad you can fix it. If it's not a technique thing then....could that be a bad thing?
Cy posted a pic awhile back and it’s pretty bad form.

I'm not saying he doesn't have bad form. I'm wondering if it's actually better if a guy has bad form and the shot doesn't go in (and can theoretically improve his form) or a guy with good form but it still doesn't go in.

Ahh, I see what you mean. I’m really not sure. On the surface I would guess maybe the bad form has more upside because you have an excuse on why it’s not going in more maybe?

35% from Flip this year from 3 isn’t that bad tho
Right but 67% from the line. That is okay but his form looks like it might go in more than that. I think you see him shoot and think he's closer to 40%... I think its why he gets labeled as a good shooter at times when he's average-ish with a maybe below average projection.

Right... like if you change one of the big things and it unlocks him... like there are obvious places to work I guess.

And maybe he's MKG and its busted.

Yeah, I definitely think how pretty it looks changes the perception a bit.

Clingan is 100% a higher IQ/feel player on both ends than Kessler, but I do worry about his complete lack of vertical pop.

He probably needs to drop another 20 lbs. Not sure he's a guy who really needs to be 280.

I'd worry about his ability to guard space if he gets pulled to the perimeter.

Saw a lot of experts on twitter losing their mind at the possibility he slips out the lotto. It is kinda wild. The shot must be bad in open gym or he must suck in interviews or something. A pro day shouldn't hurt your stock.

It's a bit interesting to me that the Thompson twins got something of a pass for their lack of shooting last year and Holland doesn't, even in a weaker draft.
