Donald is about to go through some things...

I want to point this out because you’ve fooled a few on here to think that you’re not a MAGA trumper but a rational conservative. I don’t see it that way at all. And this is yet another example of it. A few valid points:

1. Out of all those clips you pick this one out to try and debate. As if those other clips aren’t bad. As if they don’t exist. Whether it’s deporting 10 people while accidentally deporting the one legal person here or letting Ukraine be killed off by Trump’s buddy, Putin. I notice you didn’t address Trump’s sharks and batteries clip or Ronny “Johnson” clip. Why?

2. Something both you and AL do a lot of and it’s dishonest, is remove context. This isn’t the first time Trump has rifted about electric tanks. Having non-tactical hybrid vehicles on base for transportation doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Yet, Trump exaggerates and lies, and makes it sound like our “woke military that loves LGBTs and blacks is now selling out our security for electric battle tanks while other less woke militaries continue to use good old fashioned manly fossil fuel powered tanks. Libs are weak impotent green queers!” There’s valuable MAGA context here that fuels his populism (fascism tbh). He’s not debating the merits of hybrid or electric powered vehicles. He’s using this as yet another point in his culture war. He’s creating a narrative that “MAGA strong people use fossil fuels while the other side uses dumb impotent wimpy unrealistic forms of energy. And I bet they also use vaccines, love gays, use wimpy shower heads, are black, etc.”

3. You don’t have to defend Trump here. There was a time when Republicans believe in climate change and didn’t make it a culture issue (John McCain actually made it a big part of his campaign In 2008). Where have all the conservatives gone? Have they all joined the Democratic coalition or MAGA?

IMG_4911.jpegDon’t worry, I’ll bring up the rest after I get to my destination. Costa Vida before DIA. On a college recruiting trip for my daughter.

Hope your trip goes well, but Costa Vida?

Not too far from there is the greatest restaurant in the world.

Daughters request. We don’t have Costa or Cafe Rio in Florida, so when we go west it’s a mandatory stop for her. I look for the local BBQ, Seafood or Steakhouse depending on the location.

We hit up Montana on this trip, so I have officially visited all 50 States. Just need see the territories now.

This is what you consider “incoherent gibberish”?

You complain about conservatives not coming on here and debating policies and ideas. Trump is doing that in this clip. It’s not hard to follow along. He is ripping the idea of having electric tanks because of weather, distance, weight and size while trying to make a couple of jokes.

I would debate you on this subject right now. I’m not for electric tanks at all, not until there is much more improvement in battery technology. I agree with him on all these factors.

Just because Trump says something, your opinion will be the complete opposite. Your response to this idea that diesel tanks are better than electric tanks is put the person who thinks diesel is better into nursing homes or hospice.

You didn’t even debate the factors he brought up. You could have went with it would reduce the cost (human and moving) of logistics of diesel in war zones. Or could have went with a hybrid solution.

If you want to debate, don’t use MAGA, Trump or any other scary right wing word. Just debate on facts or the context of what the other person is saying.
Do you think that the military will intentionally build tanks that don't work? If so, why do you think they would/will do that?

Because they so woke

Give us the manly man Russian military. They so manly that they just rush into battle out from any kind of cover and get annihilated because if they don't their own leadership shoots them.

When did I say that the military would make tanks that don’t work?

In a war zone, with the technology we have now, would you rather have diesel or electric tanks?

How less efficient is the electric tank in sub temperatures compared to diesel tanks?

In an emergency, both need to refuel or recharge, which one is quicker?

The US military has previously become enamored with supposed advancements and gone all in only to realize afterwards it was a bad idea. One example is the gun that could shoot either 152mm rounds or Shillelagh missiles. They designed both the M551 Sheridan and the M60A2 Main Battle Tank around that gun. The problem is in using the gun to fire the missile fouled the barrel so the 152mm rounds couldn't be fired, and firing the 152mm rounds cracked the barrel making the vehicle useless. The military actually phased out the M60A2 in 1976 to go back to the older M60A1 until 1980 when the M1 Abrahams took over.

Ding ding ding!

And that’s the narrative, the soothing elixir that Trump is selling and judging by totally not MAGA Buck’s response, is clearly buying. Our “woke” military is sacrificing America’s safety to appease their “woke” masters. Do you really want to be in a war zone with electric tanks? Facts be damned that they aren’t being used in war zones.

Therefore, you need to vote for Trump, a strongman, to combat the woke. It is only by empowering a strongman that we can rid ourselves of woke. And let’s be clear what woke is, it’s “anything MAGA doesn’t like” in general and specifically it’s, “gay, trans, and black people” specifically.

So our weak climate change obsessed gay military is sacrificing white Christian true Americans on the altar of wokeness and we need to empower a strong man or else straight white Christian MAGA America is dead. It’s white grievance that Trump is selling and that many here are buying. And that’s when Trump is coherent. Most of the time his followers just understand that he’s hating the same people they hate. And that’s good enough to get their emotions charged.

IMHO, both Christians and conservatives should reject this. But that might mean 1) rejecting Trump and the GOP. Either to hurt their political chances so they change or forming another political party. Most won’t do this because they like what Trump offers, vengeance against one’s perceived enemies (usually religious and political). And if it’s not based on grievance, they find a way to get to Trump, judges, tax cuts, charter schools, etc. Most won’t admit that liberals were right about Trump all along. 2) reimagining a more inclusive and forward thinking conservative vision for the country. That’s really hard. Especially since all the media and money is bent on empowering white (evangelical) Christian grievance.

Electric tanks aren’t in war zones. Someone don’t read the link I sent but they are buying the nonsense Trump spouted. Why would the military develop such ineffective tanks @Bucknutz? You have yet to answer this simple question that @fishonjazz asked.

Again no one said they are in a war zone. It’s a hypothetical question asking if they were which one would you choose?

Do I need to say “hypothetically” for you to understand what I’m writing? You have issues with this.

For example:IMG_4912.jpeg

With your reading comprehension abilities, please show me where Trump says to stick a flashlight up your *** or drink bleach?

For once answer this. You do exactly what Trump does by taking someone's words and change it to shame, put down or fake outrage.

So when Trump does this you call it “incoherent gibberish”. Should we do this to you? Or just call hospice for you?

Keep editing your responses.

Tell me right now, like I said in my opening response:

“I’m not for electric tanks at all, not until there is much more improvement in battery technology.”

with the technology we have right now would you rather have a diesel or electric tank? It’s a simple question, Thriller, why don’t you answer it?

Again I never said they would produce tanks that wouldn’t work. I’ll say it again for you Triller, I would take a diesel tank over an electric tank until the improve on the technology.

Next question for you Thriller, you think the military will just produce the most efficient and perfect electric tank from the start? Or do you think, it might not be the most efficient at first and then approve along the way? And when technology improves, do you think it would be a better product than a diesel verson? See that’s how I view it, it will become better when technology improves.

My primary criticism of those comments by Trump isn't that they are dumb, it's that Trump is so convinced of his own genius that he thinks that he may have just discovered a solution that no one else has thought of. It is the 1,000,000th confirmation that he is a clueless narcissist.

That said I agree that twisting the comment into "shove a flashlight up your ***" is not helpful. Let's criticize Trump on the actual merits and substance. There is more than enough there for most of us to make up our minds about him without the mischaracterizations.
