The Hoop Collective had a lot to say about the Utah Jazz

They went on to talk about how no one on the Jazz is untouchable in trade talks. Players like Kelly Olynyk and Kris Dunn were mentioned but the big name they talked about is Lauri Markkanen. MacMahon says the chances are slim that Markkanen gets moved because of how much it would take to get him. If someone gives the Jazz an offer they’d be dumb to turn down is basically what it will take.

This coincides with what we’ve heard with other reports.

It wasn’t really serious and may not be serious now but when Lowe is unprompted mentioning it’s a situation to watch and it’s only about Lauri it’s different than someone asked on a pod when talking about the Jazz… believe what you want.

I still think it’s unlikely but Morey has done **** like this before. I just see a scenario out there now that could lead Lauri to want out… Lauri has a mechanism to use to make it happen if he wants to. The money should give us the ultimate leverage but maybe it’s not good enough.

It was unprompted though. They were talking about Philly.

I guess everyone can have their own opinion on it…I am not convinced and don’t see this as much different than the other stuff. There can always be a surprise, for example, I was actually surprised on Bridges…but smoke wise I think this is more of the same.

I feel like we’ve been hearing this stuff for some time now. Lauri is a big name, it would make sense if the Jazz were open to trading for him. It make sense that teams are circling like sharks. It’s interesting to talk about and will make headlines/clicks.

Like I said, if these rumors don’t come with the caveat of “it’s not happening”….I will sense that the tone has changed. If the caveat of “it’s not happening” is included, I will continue to believe that it’s probably not happening.

He also said nothing to indicate that has changed - in fact he said the opposite - that he doesn't think Philly has enough and he doesn't think Utah would trade him.

But if you wanted to hear somebody literally say, word for word, that they have to get blown away, then Woj said exactly that.

Not weird at all if you use your brain. Sarr wants to be a 4. So they need a quality 5 to help him develop properly as a 4

Teams were calling at the deadline too. Also it might not be us changing our stance... there are other parties here. Why have we been so anxious to make win now moves when we aren't close to winning? Why is Utah mentioned in the PG stuff at all?

Money rules everything in the NBA so I think Lauri would be saying he wants to stay and renegotiate. That's why I have it at like 10% or less chance.
