I think you a) missed the memo regarding subtlety vs. just outright saying something and b) seem to believe this was a detective hunt challenge rather than a thought exercise.
OK, my post is deleted. Now just delete your quoting what I said and the harm will be contained.

A very skewed thought exercise. I put the career numbers of the two out there as well. I think that would change the thoughts that would come to mind.

It might and it might not. Career numbers can be misleading as well. Imagine if you played this game with Vince Carter or Baron Davis' career numbers.

The career number effect may also go both ways. It may demonstrate direction of change as well as historical productivity.

In any event, if you're a long time member of the board you know a) why these two players were selected and b) why it's funny regardless of how objectively "fair" it is.

Taking into account minutes played, age, and salary which of these players would you rather have on your team? Names have been redacted to avoid bias from creeping in. If you know the answers please don't reveal them. After a sufficient number of people have answered I'll reveal which players they are and see what the reaction is. Assume that both players play the same position and are the same height.

Player 1: 38.0 mpg, 16.0 ppg, 7.3 apg, 4.2 rpg, 43.7% FG%, 28.2% 3PFG%, 17.76 PER, 28 years old, $5.2 million salary

Player 2: 36.3 mpg, 18.2 ppg, 8.3 apg, 3.8 rpg, 37.2% FG%, 33.3% 3PFG%, 17.6 PER, 27 years old, $16.3 million salary

How well is player one's team playing? If we were to consider all point guards on shabby teams to continue their high statistics when they are moved to better teams, then Devin Harris would be killing it in Utah right now.

FWIW I saw these stats a few days ago, so I know who both players are.

You added age, which would negate that factor.

I was lurking at the time, so I don't remember the poster, but once I figured out the two players, I vaguely remembered something about some poster ogling over player 1.

Oh, and incidentally, I have both of them on one of my fantasy teams. In fact, I have a murderer's row of point guards on that particular team. Those two players, Jrue Holiday, Rajon Rondo, and, of course (since no murderer's row of PGs is complete without this player), Jimmer Fredette.

So I vaguely remember from the old board - I guess it must have been you - someone was completely enamored with "Player 1," much like honz was pimping Hayward to us before the draft 2 years ago.

I'm trying to remember your name from years past, though. Was it something to do with a mean striped cat?

As I mentioned in the other post, I was only a lurker back then.

As many of you have sussed out Player 1 is Jarrett Jack and Player 2 is Deron Williams.

I believe TuffTiger/O Gatinho should bookmark the results of this poll and claim victory since he spilled mountains of digital ink on this board over the summer prior to the Deron Williams draft arguing his case for Jack as our draft pick.
