Jazz Sign Oscar Tshiebwe to 2-Way Contract (And Waive Kinsey)

Idk why anyone is discussing depth in regards to a 2-way contract on a tanking team.

It's about a pathway to playing time/opportunity to develop. Of course the majority of two way guys are mostly going to be in the G-League, but more opportunity is more opportunity.

The opportunity is essentially the same for all 2 way players, even moreso for a bad team.

No it’s not, well it is but you’re looking to find a diamond in the rough. The Jazz signed him in hopes he can do a bit of everything a long with his elite skill set in rebounding. Also those Centers you listed are either not really centers or not long for being on the team. Filip isn’t a. 5, he’s better suited to play pf. He’s not a down low player and I see him as a future starter.

To throw a bit of coldwater on this, why did the Pacers part ways with him? He is older as he and Bacot are the same age.

I disagree. For example, I think Jason Preston has way more opportunity than Oscar given the current roster. I'm not complaining about anything, but I find it interesting that Oscar went to a place where the path to playing time is so difficult. You would think that after such a good season in the G-League he and his agent might place him somewhere where minutes more realistic. Path to playing time has got to be one of the most important things for a guy trying to make the league. Maybe the tanking situation trumps everything in terms of potential playing time.

I'm not 100% sure, but I know he had a couple of rough summer league games. From what I've heard they wanted him to work on some things, and didn't see improvement by summer league. They needed to open up a spot for their draft pick, Enrique Freeman as well.
