I don't really have a problem with anything that John was saying. It's just a mismatch in what his career goals are and where this team is at. He's 27 and it's totally fair for him to see himself as a player first instead of a full fledged mentor. I think it's more of a credit to guys like Clarkson/Lauri who seem enthusiastic about dedicating this upcoming season to the young players.

This. John in a different spot. Don't love the comments on starting but nothing "wrong" there at all. Will be curious if he comes off the bench if he pouts or is a pro. I would guess he'd be a total pro about it but it may not be the best thing for the locker room. Its not an ideal situation for either party right now.
