Following Potential 2025 Draftees

The dribbling/driving part of Flagg's game is very sketchy. He can't drive past NCAA bigs, and relies on scoring over/around people which is going to be much harder in the NBA.
Indeed. For a supposed generational talent, way too often he looks like he's having to work extremely hard to be able to score against NCAA defenses. I don't see the offensive extra gear he's gonna need in the League.

He'll have more space to work with in the NBA as well and should be able to use a screen to get a step on defenders. It's the same way the Jazz set up drives for Lauri. In other words, he won't have to create these drives from a cold start.

iirc the "more space in the NBA" was a thing you used for your Cody hype post too

The improved space thing is a real thing…I’m not sure it’s always accurately applied though. It’s difficult to do so. Often times I feel as though it’s an excuse, but you do see guys who are way better around the basket in the pros. Having said that, is it actually spacing or did they just make big improvements?

McCain and Flip are two guys who are way better in the pros. I’m hearing a lot of CBB make fun of Sheyer for being a trash offensive coach. So maybe that’s a real thing for Coop.

What’s definitely true is that the NBA is progressing way faster than NCAA basketball. They are playing too different sports.

Ace has 7 shots total at the rim. I’m not sure he has successfully completed a drive to the basket yet.

I still think Ace is great, but I definitely lean towards a player like Harper who can get to the easy baskets even if he may not be as good at making difficult shots.

I think the increased space in the NBA is usually negated by the improved rim protection in the NBA.
This. So often people just think about the 20 yards of green grass and forget that the trees are taller at the end of that meadow. And they have smarter branches.

Damn I ruined my metaphor.

(PS: Also in the NBA its tougher to get past the 1st guy. No use in seeing more space when you cant get to that space. Couldnt fit that in my beautiful landscape.)

Flagg looks way more comfortable as a roller than a handler in those highlights to me. Would be sort of scared of taking him hoping he's a number one option even though you probably have to do it.

Flagg and Ace are probably gonna be modern day stretch bigs once they come into the NBA. Just not enough skills to handle the ball on a regular basis. It's fine if they can work on their post moves and finishing touch.

Ehh, Flagg and Bailey are too small to be real big men. Flagg is the size of Tatum, Anunoby, and Barnes and should be compared to those guys.

Both Flagg and Bailey are definitely PFs, but definitely not Cs.
