Oh, I missed this particular defense of Sexton. Should we at least expect that Sexton could in those 4 seconds not completely lose his man steaking to the rim and then not miss Cody hopelessly signaling him that "Man, your man is running away right there, follow him!"? Or is it too much to ask our beloved defensive savant Sexton too?Yeah I mean that moving screen had no consequences cuz it was a non shooting foul lol. Y’all are acting like Sexton had time to do some full assessment of all the risks and potential routes to defend that last possession. Like with 4 seconds left (who knows if he got a good look at the clock after all he just did) he can sit back like we did and analyze what the best way is to turn a 10% OT probability into a 5% OT probability.
It is pretty sad and pathetic when a rookie after several games has a better awareness of the defensive positioning and has to point out to the veteran his mistakes. But I guess I should just mindlessly stick to the oft-repeated statement of faith: "Sexton is really hustling on defense and has greatly improved his understanding of the game - it is only his 6' height that makes him a defensive liability".
