What's new

Bam is playing his worst season since becoming a full-time starter. Points down, percentages down. And for some unknown reason he's suddenly shooting lots of threes and being really bad at them: 2,6 attempts at 28 %. (Before January is over, he'll pass his career total of 104 attempts just in half a season.)
OK, so he's having an off year. He's still a great player.

Yep. Bam is still a beast and with them no longer having championship aspirations this year I like the fact that he is working to expand his range a little bit.

The bench play from both sides in the 1st half was some of the worst basketball you'll see in the NBA outside on end-of-season tanking / garbage time. Just completely unable to score, no matter what. The Jazz would've won this one with just one more scorer, anyone, Sensa, either JC, anyone, or even Patty making his shots. Heat are awful and Bam looks a shell of himself.
Are you a Finnish person like me, someone wrote this almost word by word in Finnish forum.

I know they have injuries but I really hate to see so many minutes going to Mills and Eubanks.
You cant just play the rookies/young guys 30+ minutes. Its good to have the veterans take pressure off and also fail. Cody/Collier arent well served taking a ton of shots at this point. It would just tank their confidence.

Ehh, it's a theory I believe in. If I thought any of our rookies had a higher potential for volume I would be opposed (like maybe Sensabaugh, who I do think is showing he can take on more responsibility as a scoring option and Keyonte when healthy). As the season progresses Im sure we will see an uptick on the youth usage. For now I like the development gameplan and have enjoyed the Mills/Eubanks usage.

I said he was a shell of himself; ie. comparing his performance now to his own previous seasons. Not saying he's suddenly a bad player.

As for the Heat beating the Warriors... After a super start the Warriors are 7-15 since then. The Jazz 6-16 over the same spell. So that's not quite the achievement.

I guess it's just a matter of language then because I consider "shell of himself" to be a drastic fall off, like a 35 year old vet who is now a role player after being an all-star.
