2024-2025 Tank Race

well we beat new orleans tanking wise (which means lost, lol) and haven't played Toronto or Washington yet. Bet you we lose those. We get the benefit and priority if it comes down to it.

yeah. Keyonte, Sensabaugh, Kessler, and Collier so far have planned out pretty well. Hendricks is injured, but based off of the end of last year and the first 3 games, he is MUCH improved (and way more ripped, lmao)
Hendricks was shooting 22/25 splits in those 3 games...

Maybe he would have improved, and defensively he looked the part, but IDK how much he would have helped wins. He still looked like a severely limited offensive player.

Come on raptors, blazers took care of business now you follow suit and make it a great tank night

Thanks for the info. Didn't look in detail. You're right, if they tank, they will probably go the hard way, No Embiid, No Georges...some ''injuries'' form Maxey.... possible indeed.
I don’t think it’s feasible. They have to have the 2nd-worst record to guarantee they keep their pick and they’re in the Eastern Conference and closer to making the playoffs than getting that low.

Shutting down Embiid would strictly be a move of preservation (more likely in pursuit of making a late-season push).

It’s most-likely that the Thunder get like the 7th or 8th pick in the draft which is just perfect for the rest of the NBA. Good thing we’re emulating them but we have to start hitting on picks and digging diamonds out of the rough. All the picks in the world don’t matter if you suck at drafting and developing.

Raptors W
Blazers W

Both against teams with winning records on the road.

Things are looking good
Yep, it’s looking more and more likely that we’re likely going to finish as the 2nd worst team in the the league. We just need to make a few trades to ensure that.

It's an interesting dilemma.

About half-way through the season and clearly now in the 2nd spot (esp. in the all-important # of wins). New Orleans and Toronto playing better now. Charlotte was as well (though the Miller injury may hurt there). Portland has probably put too much space between them and us for them to be a threat to us anymore. We have a hard remaining schedule , while at least some of our "rivals" will have much easier ones. We've managed to do all this without trades. Arguably, the FO and coaching decisions have masterfully managed the tank -- giving both vets and youngsters plenty of time to improve/showcase their games. There's probably nothing we can do to get to the worst record in the league. So trades aren't going to improve our draft probabilities.

If we manage to get Flagg, it's possible that we may decide to keep some of the vets and figure out how to win. Even without Flagg, the current vets would give us a lot more optionality in the offseason.

On the other hand, we've been managing to lose by the skin of our teeth at times lately. Our overall point differential is stronger than our record reflects. A few unexpected wins could put our current position in peril.
