LA Clippers Lob City vs. Utah Jazz Swat Lake City, Wed. 8:30 MT ESPN

I think players should get a suspension if they flop and there is no contact.

But there was contact! Sure he flopped, but Paul made enough contact that it was a charge. Would have called it myself. However, the officials are wildly inconsistent on that call. It really does seem that a players reputation comes into their decisions. Griffin backed himself into a couple of layups tonight by just backing over the defender until he got to the basket. A defensive player also is allowed his space, those should of been charges on Griffin but obviously were not called.

In the end Boler/harpring lost this game for us (gotta blame somebody) by saying in the first half that those missed free throws would come back to haunt us in a close game. They sure did. If you are a superstar you can knock that defender back all you want (Think Shaq here) if you are Paul Millsap it's charge. Sure it's a tough game to officiate, but, it's hard to take the human out of the equation.

1. Free throws. Ugh, again.

2. Inexplcable abandonment of the inside game by the bench in a stretch that could have blown the game open the other way.

3. Bad rebounding night. It seemed like the ball just hated our players' hands at times.

I'd put Griff's flop well below these. One other thing I didn't like was Tinsley over Burks when Watson went down.

Another grinder, Chris Paul was really, really good. Corbin did a fine job putting Hayward on him late. It was effective forcing CP into tough shots, he just made them.

Should have been a W but again a lot of fight shown. This team does not give up.

Contact? It's a post-up back down, contact is a given. He did not lower his shoulder or put any excessive force into Griffin. He just flopped.

Shaq is not even a good example because his size and power was so unique he was truly difficult to properly officiate. Griffin and Millsap are similar size though, similar strength.

Effort??? Did you not watch the game? Did you not see 4 alley-oop dunks by the Clippers to open the game? Did you not see Millsap running neck-to-neck with Griffen to half-court, then drift over towards the Jazz bench while Griffen dribbled in for a slam? Did you not watch Jefferson give a token wave at CP3 as he went in for a lay-up? Did you not watch Howard test (and fail) his dibbling skills against three defenders while the rest of the Jazz pleaded for him to pass the ball?

Rebounds: Clippers - 50, Jass - 35.

What effort?

The issue wasn't effort. The alley-oops were a direct result of poor PnR defense (and in total fairness, it's hard to play PnR D with Paul and Griffin) 97 lead changes and a game decided in the final seconds were all you needed to see about the effort factor. It was there. The Clips just have a devastating 2 man game in CP3 and Blake.

Couldn't put it better myself:

Griffin might have flopped, but Jefferson's incredibly soft foul right there means Jazz don't deserve to win.

Can't understand why burks sits. He has to play to get better.

Burks doesn't play because he tries to do too much on offense. Guarnteed he would get more time if he didn't take ridiculous pull up jumpers and out of control takes to the rim. In a close game, you can't really risk playing a guy who may randomly decide to go 1 on 1.

Despite everything, the game was very exciting. Terrible subs and minute allocation by Corbin again. Clips wanted it more. Good for them.

Oh, and I really enjoy these Verlin/Craig fights. Keep it up guys.

Steve Luhm isn't qualified to wash my underwear. Yeah, it was a bad foul by Jefferson. But if Jefferson doesn't show up tonight, we lose by 20.
