Is there anybody on in to racing?

I didn't think I would ever be interested, but I went to my first race two weeks ago and I'm kind of hooked.

I am only following Indycar for now, but will be looking in to other racing leagues soon.

I follow F1.

It’s one of the closest race for Championship this year (Verstapen dominated the past 4).

Every race is a coin toss this year, it’s fantastic.
That's interesting, in Indycar it's the opposite so far. Alex Palou is dominating and has won 4 of the first 5 races.

How is Scott McLauchlin doing this year?

I followed him since he was dominating the V8 Supercar series. That must have been 5-6 years ago now before he left to try out Indy car racing.

He’s a great Kiwi boy.

He's currently in 5th place, but there was a big scandal with his team and the all got put in the back for the Indy500.

I'm a bit of a racing nut and always have been. I used to follow F1 super closely, really since 1979 when I worked at the Detroit F1 race handing out track maps. I haven't followed it nearly as much over the last 5 years but still stay up on it through the news and occasionally watch practice, qualy or a race. I still record everything. It used to be amazing but it got less interesting to me for various reasons, including loss of refueling, etc. I still follow MotoGP closely and Motocross and Supercross super closely, and been to a lot of Supercross and Motocross venues. Used to follow CART and Indycar but not so much anymore. CART used to be awesome back in the day but the IRL ****ed it all up. Also used to follow NASCAR but don't follow it at all these days. Still love racing though, used to race karts and track day sportbikes and have been to several F1 races and driven some of the best racetracks in the world including the Nurburgring Nordschleife many times( my dad grew up 15 minutes from the track) and visits to places like Spa, Hockenheim, Monaco, Indy for F1 and the 500, Vegas. I also follow the dirt bike hard enduro world championship. I still ride dirtbikes, desert and mountains, about four days/week and ride my ADV bike sometimes. Also do a lot of snowbiking in the winter, so I'm always working on motorcycles. I don't sell my bikes or cars/trucks too often so my collection has become quite large and I plan on passing most of it down to my son or daughter someday.

Palou is just so dominant right now, it's kind of cool to see.

My friend owns the Ed Carpenter Racing team and so that is how I got in to Indycar. Here in Indianapolis the Indy500 is another holiday, people really get in to it.

I never thought I would, but I gave it a chance and here I am.

Indy used to be pretty popular here but it seems to have died in the arse, it used to be shown on free to air tellie but i think its now on the pay TV. F1 is more popular than ever supposedly but it hasn't been on free to air TV in years. I went off F1 when they brought in the halo's and went to turbos. I miss the old days.

The amazing Murray Walker, F1 will never be the same without Murray and of course the great James hunt.

One of the all time great moments.
